Samsung sets an anti-record for smartphone sales in 2020

The COVID-19 pandemic has affected the lives of almost all companies. The largest tech giants are no exception. For example, the Korean brand Samsung set an anti-record for smartphone shipments in 2020.
In 2011, Samsung sold 300 million of its smartphones. In the following years, if the South Korean brand did not manage to exceed this bar, it always reached that mark. But in 2020, according to experts, Samsung will not be able to repeat the success of a decade ago.
By the end of Q3 2020, 189 million Korean smartphones had been sold worldwide. Analysts are confident that the maximum that Samsung’s management can count on is 270 million units shipped.
And now it’s completely unclear how low sales Samsung smartphones in 2020 may affect the value of the manufacturer’s shares. We’ll have to wait for the official financial report of Samsung, which should be published in the first quarter of the coming 2021 year.
