Samsung Electronics announced the launch of a new redesigned SmartThings interface for smart home control.

Applications for Windows and mobile devices will receive a new interface. True, for mobile, it is clarified that the Android application will begin to be updated today, and for iOS – soon after that.

As noted by the developers, the updated service should make it easier and faster to work with connected equipment. In addition to the interface, SmartThings now uses a new color scheme that is fresher than the muted gamut of the old app, full of grays and earthy tones.

The application now uses five main sections: Favorites, Devices, Life, Automation, and Menu. Favorites – This is the main screen of the SmartThings application, which contains the most used devices, activities and services for quick access.

The “Devices” section allows you to view and control information about all available equipment, including TVs, light bulbs, household devices and other devices. In the “Life” section, you can explore the new features of the smart home and the SmartThings service. Here you will find information about applications such as SmartThings Cooking, a platform for managing all kitchen processes.

Automation brings together devices to work together and sets up a response to certain events, such as opening a door or turning on a light. The Menu section includes additional SmartThings features including SmartThings Labs, notifications, history and settings.
