Samsung today announced a major firmware update for the Galaxy S22 series smartphones with new camera features. This update has already been released in Germany and South Korea. But what is interesting is that the same update has also been released for the Galaxy S21 series smartphones.
It is also available in South Korea and Germany. As part of the update, the quality of photos and videos is significantly improved, and a Hyperlapse mode appears for the module with a telephoto lens that provides 3x optical zoom. In Korea, the update is running under the number G99xNKSU3CVH7, in Germany – under the number G99xBXXU5CVH7.
I must say that the update of the camera is complex: not only the quality has been improved, but also a number of functions have been improved. So, for example, a QR code scanner has become more convenient. The area for scanning the code has become larger, so the process itself has been simplified. The scanning speed has increased, and it has also become possible to recognize both the document itself and the QR code on it: after scanning the document, without leaving the application, you can scan the QR code. It was impossible to do this before. Samsung says the update brings improvements to HDR, color reproduction, and video stabilization. The dialog for sending multiple images via instant messengers has also been updated.
Indestructible smartphone Samsung Galaxy Xcover6 Pro with a replaceable battery was highly appreciated for maintainability
The Samsung Galaxy Xcover6 Pro is IP68 rated and US military standard MIL-STD-810H compliant, but comes with a tool-less removable back cover for quick access to a replacement battery when needed. A simple rubber gasket keeps water out.
The smartphone was dismantled on the PBKreviews channel, while it received very good reviews for maintainability. After all, battery replacement is one of the most popular types of repair.
Samsung used standard Phillips screws. In addition, the 3.5mm headphone jack is on a separate module that is held in place by a screw. It takes some disassembly to get to it, but it’s not soldered to the board. The USB-C charging port is on a separate circuit board, and there are spring contacts underneath it and below the speaker assembly.
At 9.9mm thin and 235g, the Samsung Galaxy Xcover6 Pro is thicker and heavier than most phones with 6.6-inch displays and 4050 mAh batteries for the sake of security and repair-friendly design.
Fans will love this iPhone 14 Pro feature: iOS 16.1 will support streaming sports in Dynamic Island
Apple has confirmed that iOS 16.1 will feature a new Live Activity feature that allows iPhone users to get real-time updates on the lock screen about sports events, food delivery status, and more. Beta testers confirm that on iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max, live sports are already integrated into Dynamic Island.
For example, during a football match in Dynamic Island, a real-time scoreboard is displayed. With a long press, Dynamic Island expands to show elapsed time and other important information. IT House confirms that when the iPhone 14 Pro is locked, the score is displayed in a widget on the lock screen. Also, Dynamic Island will immediately notify you if any team scores a goal.
To test this feature on an iPhone running iOS 16.1 beta, you need to subscribe to supported events in the TV app. Apple said the feature is available for MLB events for users in the US, Canada, Australia, UK, Brazil, Mexico, Japan, and South Korea, and NBA and Premier League events for US and Canadian users only.
iOS 16.1 will be released later this year. In addition to adding support for Live Activity in third-party apps, the update will include a new green energy charging option for users in the US, support for Matter accessories in the Home app, and Apple Fitness+ workouts without the need for an Apple Watch.
With the iOS 16.1 beta, Apple opened up the Dynamic Island Application Programming Interface (API) and also released a design guide that outlines specifications for developers to add Live Activity notifications to their apps.
