Samsung has announced that it has developed a prototype of what it calls the Reinvented Toilet. That is, it is a newly invented toilet.

Samsung has reinvented... the toilet. The company, together with the Bill and Melisa Gates Foundation, introduced Reinvented Toilet

The development was carried out jointly with the Bill and Melisa Gates Foundation. This is the project that Gates himself showed back in 2018. Samsung, represented by the Samsung Advanced Institute of Technology, joined the work in 2019, and Gates originally announced the initiative back in 2011.

Despite the fact that Samsung showed a prototype, the project as a whole is completed. The Korean giant under the project was developing heat treatment and biotreatment technology to destroy pathogens from human waste and ensure the safety of wastewater and solids discharged to the environment. As a result, the system allows you to completely recycle purified water. Solid waste is dehydrated, dried and incinerated into ash, while liquid waste is treated in a biological treatment process.

According to the World Health Organization and UNICEF, about 3.6 billion people, or almost half of the world’s inhabitants, are forced to use unsafe sanitation facilities, causing half a million children under the age of 5 to die each year from diarrheal diseases caused by restricted access. to safe water and hygiene.

It’s not clear if Samsung will make the toilets itself, but in general, the company and the foundation will license patents related to the design free of charge to developing countries. How much time is still needed to commercialize the technology, Samsung does not specify.

How new iPhone 14 is more productive than its predecessors

The team of the popular Antutu benchmark has published a fresh monthly rating of the most productive Apple mobile devices.

How new iPhone 14 is more productive than its predecessors: Antutu's latest ranking of the fastest iPhones and iPads

At the end of September, it became clear how good smartphones in the new iPhone 14 line are in terms of performance. According to Antutu experts, although the iPhone 14 did not perform very well, the iPhone 14 Pro still boasts good results thanks to the A16 SoC and 6 GB of RAM.

As we can see, the iPhone 14 Pro managed to take 4th place in the ranking, losing in performance to Apple tablets – iPad Pro 5 of different diagonals and iPad Air 5 based on the Apple M1 SoC. At the same time, the more expensive and larger iPhone 14 Pro Max took fifth place, scoring less than the iPhone 14 Pro.

According to Antutu experts, the reason for this is due to the large screen size of the iPhone 14 Pro Max. Assuming that the basic configuration of the two models is almost the same, the difference in screen size gives a difference of about 2000 pixels. The base model iPhone 14 got into the Antutu rating, but only in tenth place.

Last year’s iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max took eighth and seventh places, respectively, and the iPhone 13 was not included in the ranking.

The data was collected from September 1 to September 30, 2022. It is worth noting that the table shows the average, not the highest results, while at least 1000 tests were used for each model.
