Samsung has reduced the price of DDR4 memory. DDR3 is being phased out and DDR5 production is accelerating

Sources said that Samsung continues to reduce the production of DDR3 memory modules, offering better prices for DDR4 to attract home appliance manufacturers that still require DDR3 memory.

As Samsung cuts prices for DDR4 chips, DDR3 memory vendors may also cut prices to keep orders. DRAM consumer prices are expected to fall further in the second half of this year, sources said.

The source pointed out that contract prices for 4GB DDR4 modules fell by about 8% in July alone, although price cuts by major suppliers are “unreasonable” in terms of production costs. Consumer-grade DRAM prices could fall 15% in the third quarter.

By phasing out DDR3 production, Samsung and SK Hynix have accelerated the transition from old to new product lines and expanded DDR5 chip production.

Tesla unveiled its latest iteration of its Dojo supercomputer, which proved to be so powerful it shut down the power grid in Palo Alto.

Dojo is Tesla’s own dedicated supercomputing platform, built from the ground up for AI machine learning and specifically for video training using video data coming from Tesla electric vehicles.

The automaker already has a large supercomputer powered by Nvidia GPUs, which is one of the most powerful in the world, but Dojo’s new custom computer uses Tesla-designed chips and infrastructure.

The new supercomputer will boost Tesla’s ability to train neural networks using video data, which is critical for computer vision technology to enable self-driving driving. A year ago, the company first announced the creation of Dojo. Now she spoke about the progress made over the year.

They had to develop their own powerful cooling and power system for Dojo cabinets. Chang confirmed that Tesla shut down its local power grid substation while testing Dojo: “Earlier this year, we began stress testing our power and cooling infrastructure and managed to increase capacity by more than 2 MW before we shut down our substation and received a call from cities”.
