Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra’s tiny screen bezels confirmed: first photos of protective glass published

The authoritative insider Ice Universe has published the first photos of the protective glass of the flagship smartphone Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra, which is due to be presented early next year.

The photos show that the phone will have very narrow bezels at the top and bottom. The Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra is expected to feature a 6.8-inch AMOLED display with curved edges. The front camera will be 40 megapixel. In addition to the 108MP main camera, there will be an ultra wide-angle 12MP camera and two 12MP telephoto cameras with 3x and 10x optical zoom. The ultra-wide-angle camera will be equipped with optical image stabilization for the first time.

The smartphone should get a compartment for storing the S Pen stylus, which can be inserted into the smartphone through the lower left corner, just like in the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra. While the current S21 Ultra is also S Pen compatible, the smartphone doesn’t have room for a stylus, so you’ll need to buy a matching case for it. To add room for the stylus, Samsung will have to reshape the case and move away from the rounded corners that are so characteristic of the Galaxy S series, so the new model will have a lot more resemblance to the more rectangular Note line.

In this market, Samsung smartphones accounted for half of all sales. The company’s achievement in Vietnam contrasts with other brands

Samsung has been the leader in the smartphone market for many years, but its positions vary greatly from country to country. As it turned out, in Vietnam, Samsung crushed half of the market.

At the end of the third quarter, the Korean giant took 49% of the Vietnamese market, and a year ago the company’s share was 36%. At the same time, almost all other companies from the top five recorded a decrease in their market shares.

As you can see, only Vivo was able to increase its share from 6% to 8%, but Oppo, Xiaomi and Realme cannot boast of this. At the same time, the market as a whole sank by 28%, so against this background Samsung’s achievement is even more significant.

Budget smartphones helped the company achieve such indicators. The Galaxy A12, A22 and A03s were the top-selling models in Vietnam. By the way, Galaxy A12, as we already know, was the second most popular worldwide this year.

Which smartphone became the most popular in 2021? The answer could have been predicted a year ago

Despite the fact that there is still a little more than a month before the end of the year, IDC analysts have already summed up the results of the year at least in relation to the best-selling smartphones.

The authors gave a list of five of the most popular devices, and four of them are from Apple.

The leader is quite expectedly turned out to be the iPhone 12. Recall that last year the best-selling smartphone was the iPhone 11, and before it the iPhone XR. The iPhone 11, as you can see, still sells very well, but the much more expensive last-generation Apple flagships also hit the top.

The only smartphone not from the Apple camp in the top five was the budget Samsung Galaxy A12. And that’s to be expected as well, as the base models of the Galaxy A line have also consistently been on top-selling device lists in recent years. True, there were usually Galaxy A5x there, but at least we don’t see Galaxy A52 in this list.

The source has published high-quality renders of the Honor 60 and Honor 60 Pro smartphones, which will debut on December 1st. Judging by these images, the external difference between the older model and the younger one will be the screen bent on all four sides, but the rest of the devices are the same.

Interestingly, unlike the Honor 50, the main cameras have exactly three sensors – no quad cameras. Perhaps optical stabilization will appear, and the sensors themselves will become larger. The resolution of the main sensor will be 108 megapixels in both cases. The front cameras will use 50-megapixel sensors.

Both models will receive 6.7-inch AMOLED screens with Full HD + resolution with a frame rate of 120 Hz. The SoC will improve slightly: instead of the Snapdragon 778G, the Honor 50 will use the recently introduced Snapdragon 778G Plus 5G. Also, smartphones are credited with support for 66W charging.
