Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra based on Exynos 2200 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 have similar performance
The PhoneArena resource compared the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra versions based on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 single-chip system (Samsung model number SM-S908U) and Exynos 2200 (Samsung model number SM-S908B) in Geekbench. The highest scores for both options were compared.
The Geekbench test shows that the Exynos 2200 version scores 1168 points compared to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1’s 1226 points. In multi-core tasks, the Exynos 2200 outperforms the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 variant, scoring 3508 points compared to 3462 points. It is worth noting that the single-core performance of the Exynos 2200 version of the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra was almost twice as high as the previous result published in November.
Previous generations of flagship Exynos SoCs have earned a reputation for being slower than their Snapdragon counterpart, but that could change this time around. The Geekbench 5 test mainly focuses on CPU testing, so the results do not represent GPU performance.
These tests show that on paper, the Exynos 2200 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 versions of the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra can offer similar performance. However, how things are in practice, I will only show tests in real scenarios after the release of smartphones.

Ross Young, an industry analyst and founder of research companies Display Supply Chain Consultants and DisplaySearch, confirmed his own data that the iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max will be larger than their predecessors. In the iPhone 17 line, older models will receive the same panels as the iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max, but instead of the Dynamic Island cutout, they will only have a cutout for the front camera, and the Face ID module will be placed completely under the screen. But the iPhone 17 and 17 Plus models will retain Dynamic Island, but will finally get 120-Hz panels.
