Samsung Galaxy S22 series left without latest Exynos 2200 SoC

According to a former Samsung employee nicknamed Super Roader, the South Korean company recently decided to completely abandon the use of the Exynos 2200 SoC in the Galaxy S22 smartphones. All Samsung S22 models will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 898 SoC in all regions including the US, Europe and Asia.

Letsgodigital confirms that the information is believable. Prior to that, for some time there were rumors that Samsung would use the Exynos 2200 only in some countries, and in a smaller volume than usual. However, it is now reported that the Exynos 2200 single-chip systems have experienced such serious problems that Samsung has completely abandoned their use in the Galaxy S22 series. For many, this will of course be a disappointment.

What kind of problems we are talking about is still unclear. Perhaps we are talking about a still low percentage of quality products. Or the manufacturer simply does not have time to organize a large-scale production of products in order to provide Samsung with the required number of microcircuits.

Samsung has already announced that it will be the first SoC with AMD’s 6-core GPU to support ray tracing technology. The results of the first tests look promising.

According to the latest reports, Samsung decided not to release the Galaxy S22 series in January. The same source claims that the Galaxy S22 will be announced on February 8th. This is consistent with the data of John Prosser.

Samsung has launched an internal investigation to find the culprit of the information leak.

Samsung Galaxy S23 smartphones are unlikely to receive a sub screen

Samsung is not considering adding under-screen front cameras to the Galaxy S23 line of smartphones. They were not in the Galaxy S22 either. This is stated on the Korean site Naver. A user under the pseudonym Ianzuk, citing sources in the supply chain, claims that Samsung does not have much confidence in the quality of this technology.

Samsung Galaxy S23 smartphones are unlikely to receive a sub-screen front camera

The source believes that the under-screen cameras do not yet match the quality of conventional front cameras. ZTE and Xiaomi also had similar problems. They also experimented with under-screen solutions, but failed to solve all the problems.

Even with the $1,799 Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3, the quality of selfie shots was lower than with a regular camera. Therefore, according to the source, Samsung will not release a premium line with such cameras.

It was previously reported that the front cameras in the Galaxy S23 will receive more powerful image sensors with a resolution of 12 megapixels. And these smartphones are credited with the main camera with a resolution of 200 megapixels.
