Samsung Galaxy S22, S22+ and S22 Ultra perform very poorly against iPhone 13 in drop tests
The Samsung Galaxy S22 series has passed the drop test: in a new video from Allstate on YouTube, we see that the entire Galaxy S22 line of smartphones proved to be less durable than the iPhone 13.
The video shows how smartphones are thrown on the front, back and sides to see the levels of damage. Speaking of front-facing first, the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and Galaxy S22 Ultra crashed in their first 1.8m sidewalk drop test. It is noteworthy that two of the three models were completely unusable after falls.
In comparison, the Apple iPhone 13 series was also tested by Allstate back in September 2021 and performed better overall. In terms of the face-drop test, the iPhone 13 survived the drop with only minor damage and only cracked on the second face-drop.
In drop testing, the back panel of all Galaxy S22 models completely shattered, but everything else worked fine. Although it was difficult to use them with bare hands, as they contained shards of broken glass. On the other hand, the iPhone 13 models survived two drops with only minor cracks along the camera and corner.
Side-drop results have also been tested, which is important considering the Galaxy S22 Ultra has a curved display. In addition to being more durable overall, the iPhone 13 was also more prone to damage than the last generation Samsung Galaxy S21 series. According to Allstate Protection Plan Vice President Jason Siciliano, the design upgrades for the S22 and S22 Ultra have “resulted in a reduction in durability compared to their Galaxy S21 predecessors.”

Robots are buying everything: that’s why living people don’t get iPhone 15

New research from cybersecurity company Kasada claims resellers are using bots to pre-order iPhone 15 smartphones, ordering millions of dollars worth of goods from Apple’s website and carriers. This complicates the task for ordinary buyers and delays delivery times.
The whole situation allows resellers to profit from the initial rush of demand by reselling devices for hundreds of dollars more than the recommended retail price. Resellers have long been a problem during the iPhone launch days, going back to the iPhone 4.
As noted by Kasada, trading bots, also known as All-In-One or AIO bots, have repurposed from buying in-demand sneakers to placing orders for the iPhone 15. This is especially aggravating the situation with the most in-demand iPhone 15 Pro Max. Kasada cites the example of one of the bots that made more than 3,000 checks or orders for the iPhone 15.
AIO bots are so called because they control the entire purchasing process, from determining the availability of new products to placing them in the cart and completing the order. These “batch transactions” can take anywhere from 10 to 0.2 seconds.
As with retail sales, Apple and other companies are continually cracking down on this practice with tools designed to detect the use of bots. Resellers respond by improving their tools.

This will be the Xiaomi 14 Pro. The first images of the smartphone have been published
For the first time, images of Xiaomi 14 Pro have been published on the Internet – the device is posed “wrapped” in cases, from which it becomes clear that the pictures were leaked by the accessory manufacturer.
Xiaomi 14 Pro demonstrates the evolution of the design of the current Xiaomi 13 Pro: the camera protrusion is almost the same, there are also three modules (the fourth is depicted as a camera module, but it will house a flash.
Xiaomi 14 Pro will receive SoC Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and a titanium frame. It is also credited with an AMOLED screen with a diagonal of 6.7 inches and a resolution of 3200 x 1440 pixels, a 5000 mAh battery with 120 W charging.
There is scattered data about the camera: some sources say that the device will have a 200-megapixel sensor as the main one, others attribute to it the same inch Sony IMX989 sensor as the Xiaomi 13 Pro. At the same time, everyone agrees that the remaining two sensors will be 50-megapixel.

Alternative browser Vivaldi “takes a bite from the apple”: version for iPhone and iPad presented

The team of the increasingly popular Vivaldi browser announced the release of a stable version for the Apple mobile platform. The beta version of Vivaldi for iOS has been tested for several months.
As the developers promise, Vivaldi for iOS has its own unique look thanks to a set of built-in tools, including tabs, Express Panel, control panels, notes, reading list, and a tracking and ad blocker. The synchronization function between devices is also supported – bookmarks, Express panel, passwords, form data, history of entered addresses and notes are synchronized using end-to-end encryption.
You can store all your important links in the Express Dashboard for quick access. The tab bar is designed to look like tabs on a PC for quick switching. The tab switcher gives you access to public, private, synced, and recently closed tabs.
Built-in Notes let you quickly jot down interesting information. You can copy data from the site through the context menu. Users also have access to a “Reading List” in which they can save web pages for later viewing.
The built-in tracking and ad blocker can be configured for individual sites. To increase privacy, there is a private tabs mode in which search queries, visited sites, cookies and temporary files will not be saved by the browser. Other features include easily changing the search engine, choosing an application icon from a variety of options, an interface for large iPad screens, and so on.
