Ryzen 7 5800X is the fastest gaming processor in its class, but the most profitable from Intel

Resource TechSpot decided to compare several modern processors in games. In the confrontation, the eight-core Ryzen 7 5800X, Core i7-11700K and Core i7-10700K converged.

In this case, you can compare both the latest solutions from AMD and Intel, and the difference between the new and old generation of Intel CPUs.

As you can see, the AMD processor emerged victorious in this battle. It was faster than both competitors almost everywhere, both in Full HD and in WQHD. At the same time, as always, in most games the difference between processors is minimal, since everything depends on the video card. The average advantage of the Ryzen 7 5800X over its competitors lies within 3-4%, although there are games where we are already talking about 20-30%, even in high resolution.

As for the two Intel CPUs, here, interestingly, we have parity. Depending on the game, this or that CPU is slightly faster, and this is not very good for the new Core i7-11700K.

Since the difference in performance between the three processors in games is negligible, the price comes to the fore. And here the oldest participant becomes the clear winner. The Core i7-10700K is available for $ 320-350, while the Core i7-11700K starts at $ 400, and the Ryzen 7 5800X will cost $ 420-450. But you can buy another Core i7-10700F, which will cost $ 270-300. In this case, we do not consider the issue of performance outside of games.

Attacker tried to smuggle 84 SSDs across the Chinese border

Chinese customs continues to periodically encounter unusual ways of transporting computer components. For example, on March 3, at the Guangdong-Macau checkpoint, an unnamed person tried to smuggle 84 SSDs across the border.

The man hid these same SSDs inside an electric scooter. 84 M.2 drives. were packed and hidden in the steering rack. This is a very convenient place, but the problem is that this method will not help to hide contraband from X-ray inspection. Actually, this is how the man was caught.

The official website of the customs specifies that it was about Kingston drives, but their volume is not specified. It is also worth clarifying that the attacker tried to import the SSD into China.

In China, the Lenovo Yoga Pro Extreme Edition laptop lit up live – it will be one of the most powerful models in the Yoga line. The device will receive an Intel Core i9-13905H processor, an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 Laptop 3D accelerator and 64 GB of RAM. But the most interesting thing is that instead of the usual CPU, the Supernova SoM processor module will probably be installed here.

In January of this year, Asus and Intel introduced the Supernova SoM processor module, which integrates the latest generation CPU and LPDDR5X RAM. The joint “packaging” of these components has a number of advantages: firstly, the physical distance between the RAM and the CPU is reduced to almost a minimum, secondly, the memory operates at a higher frequency, and thirdly, the motherboard can be made more compact.

It is known that the Supernova SoM module will be used in one of the Asus laptops, but it has not yet been released. However, Lenovo also seems to be taking the technology into its arsenal: it is expected to be used in the Yoga Pro Extreme Edition.

Apparently, Lenovo Yoga Pro Extreme Edition will be a 16-inch laptop. The official premiere of new items is expected at a large Lenovo event in China on March 21. Then it will become clear whether Supernova SoM is really used in this model.

The beta version of the game only supports DLSS2 technology, if you activate it, then the frame rate will easily exceed the level of 60 fps. Blizzard and Nvidia have announced that DLSS3 will be supported when the final game releases on June 6th, which means that in-game performance will be even better with it.
