Russia may block Facebook, YouTube and Twitter

According to one of the recently published reports of Financial Express, the Russian authorities have developed a new bill, which in the future could greatly complicate the operation of the above services.
The bill will allow regulators to promptly block Facebook, Twitter and YouTube if these platforms restrict media activities, which runs counter to the right to freedom of information. The blocking of Russian media channels was indeed carried out, and this applies not only to the most famous video hosting, but also to social networks.
The law has already been passed by the lower house of parliament. Many are controversial about such a decision, and the situation is somewhat reminiscent of the case with massive attempts to ban Telegram a couple of years ago.
In order for the bill to come into force, it is necessary for the president to sign it, but at the current time this has not happened.
