Asus has unveiled its new smartwatch VivoWatch 5 – the novelty has got its own page on the official website of the company. Alas, the characteristics section has not been completed yet, but there is a rather detailed description of the watch’s capabilities.
So, VivoWatch 5 provides 24/7 monitoring of pulse and blood oxygenation, there is also a sleep and stress analysis system, and body temperature determination is supported. The watch has many training modes, counting steps, distance, calories, etc.
The novelty is equipped with an LTE modem and can work independently of a smartphone. There is also an NFC adapter for mobile payments, a GPS receiver, supplemented by an altimeter and an accelerometer. You can swim with the watch, but the 5ATM marking means that diving with it is undesirable.
The declared maximum autonomy of the watch is 14 days, however, with active use of GPS and other functions, the device will have to be charged much more often.
VivoWatch 5 comes with many different home screen designs and a quick-change strap system so users can easily change the style of the device. Detailed specifications, including screen diameter, dimensions, battery capacity, etc., will be published later, but the price of the new item is already known – $ 395.

SoC in Apple Watch Series 8 is equivalent to SoC in Apple Watch Series 6. New details about Apple Watch SE 2
Bloomberg editor Mark Gurman spoke about the new Apple Watch that Apple will release later this year, including the Apple Watch Series 8 and Apple Watch SE 2.
There have been reports earlier that Apple will add a faster Apple S8 SoC to the Apple Watch Series 8, but Gurman claims that “the Apple S8 will have the same specs as the Apple S7.” At the same time, the Apple S7 in terms of characteristics is almost a copy of the Apple S6 in the Apple Watch Series 6 of the 2020 model.
Mark Gurman added that next year’s Apple Watch Series 9 will feature a “completely new processor.” As for the Apple Watch SE 2, it will have the same screen as the Apple Watch SE, as well as the Apple S8 SoC, which will be faster than the Apple S5 SoC found in the Apple Watch SE.
watchOS 9 is ending support for the Apple Watch Series 3, so I’d eventually expect that model to be discontinued in the fall. The Apple Watch SE will remain a mid-range option.
