The news that the protection against mining of the GeForce RTX 3060 was hacked appeared last week, but then it was only about specific algorithms, so it was impossible to assert a full-fledged hack. And now, according to the Japanese resource PC Watch, the protection invented by Nvidia has fallen completely – and for this it was not necessary to edit the driver or touch the BIOS. The mechanism of the protection bypass system is not disclosed, but with it the video card demonstrates excellent performance – about 48.5 MH / s!

However, in order to get such performance in mining, it is not at all necessary to break or bypass something: you just need to install a fresh version of the experimental Nvidia driver. The company added support for WSL CUDA in it, but forgot about protecting the GeForce RTX 3060 from mining … As a result, if the performance of the GeForce RTX 3060 in mining with a regular driver is about 21 MH / s, then with an experimental one – 42-46 MH / s.

Of course, the “hole” in the official (albeit experimental) driver will certainly be closed, but … nothing prevents miners from using it further. In this case, the GeForce RTX 3060 will remain in short supply for a long time.

It is assumed that the Radeon RX 7900 XT will be built on the Navi 31 GPU, consisting of one GCD module (the equivalent of CCD in Ryzen processors) with 12,288 stream processors and six MCD modules – each with 16 MB of third-level cache (Infinity Cache) and 64 -bit memory controller. In total, this gives 96 MB of cache memory and a 384-bit bus, but the use of bulk packaging technology will allow each MCD to place another cache chip, as a result, the total volume of Infinity Cahce will be 192 MB.

This is the full Navi 31 configuration, but there will also be a stripped-down version – with 10,752 stream processors and five MCDs – with 160 MB of Infinity Cache and a 320-bit bus. Such a GPU could form the basis of the Radeon RX 7800 XT.

Navi 32 is another contender for the Radeon RX 7800 XT (or more likely the Radeon RX 7800). It predicts the presence of 7680 stream processors, a 256-bit bus and 64 MB of Infinity Cache (there will be no additional cache memory chips). Finally, the Radeon RX 7700 XT can get a monolithic Navi 33 GPU with 4096 stream processors and 32 MB Infinity Cahce and a 128-bit bus.

As noted, participants in the Xe HPG Scavenger Hunt contest can choose the Core i7-12700K and Core i5-12600K processors as a prize – this is offered as an alternative to the Arc A770 and Arc A750, respectively. Thus, knowing the recommended prices for chips, you can roughly calculate the prices of video cards.

This suggests that the price of the top-end Arc A770 will not exceed $410, and the Arc A750 – $290. Of course, this is just an estimated cost.

In terms of specifications, the A770 will be based on the ACM-G10 GPU with 4096 cores clocked at up to 2.5GHz. She is promised 16 GB of GDDR6 video memory with an effective frequency of 15.5 GHz, as well as a 256-bit bus.

The Arc A750 version will get the same chip but with 3584 cores. Also, the card will have 8 GB of GDDR6 memory with a frequency of 15.5 GHz and a 256-bit bus.
