At the same eWays event, where the serial Dacia Spring electric crossover was presented, the French also showed an interesting concept Renault Megane eVision, which is the harbinger of the next generation Megan serial.
The design of the concept traces the features of city cars, crossovers and even coupes (and of course the MORPHOZ concept), but from a technical point of view, it is still a hatchback. Its dimensions are 4210 mm in length, 1800 mm in width and 1505 mm in height (wheelbase – 2700 mm, weight – 1650 kg). At the same time, the interior space of the Megane eVision is comparable to models of the larger C-class.
The Renault Megane eVision electric car is built on the new modular platform CMF-EV (Common Module Family – Electric Vehicle), which is already used in the Renault MORPHOZ, Nissan Ariya and other electric models of the Renault – Nissan – Mitsubishi alliance. The model features an ultra-flat, liquid-cooled battery that lowers the center of gravity, improves handling and increases interior volume.
The Renault Mégane eVision, the future of electric car
The front-wheel drive Renault Megane eVision is powered by an electric motor with 160 kW (217 hp) and 300 Nm of torque, which allows it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in less than 8 seconds. The battery with a capacity of 60 kWh (400 V) supports high-speed charging up to 130 kW (DC) and up to 22 kW (AC), a full charge lasts up to 450 km (WLTP).
According to the creators, the serial electric Megane hatchback based on this concept will go on sale in Europe in 2022.
