Reliable Japanese sedan with a consumption of 4 l / 100 km. Toyota Levin hybrid unveiled, price starting at $21,000
A new version of the Toyota Levin sedan has debuted in China. The main innovation is the fifth-generation proprietary THS II hybrid system instead of a conventional gasoline engine. The twin-engine Toyota Levin naturally turned out to be more expensive than the version with a conventional internal combustion engine, but on the other hand, its consumption is much lower – only 4 liters per 100 km.
The hybrid power plant is built on the basis of a 2.0-liter gasoline engine. The power of the system is not reported, but it is noted that the fifth generation installation has an updated electromechanical eCVT variator, a higher-capacity traction battery is installed, but at the same time it is lighter and more compact.
Outwardly, the hybrid Levin differs from the usual except for the corporate logo on a blue background. The same applies to the dimensions (4695 x 1780 x 1435 mm with a wheelbase of 2750 mm) – they are the same as in the purely gasoline version.
The sedan is equipped with a digital instrument panel with a 12.3-inch screen and a media system with a 10.25-inch screen, support for Toyota Connect proprietary technology, a host of different driver assistance systems, including adaptive cruise control. The cost of the basic version of the Toyota Levin is 21 thousand dollars, the top version is 23.8 thousand dollars.

The Volkswagen Tacqua Discovery crossover has been introduced. This is a Chinese T-Roc in good configuration and consumption of only 5.6 l/100 km

The Tacqua Discovery crossover debuted in China. Already from the appearance it is clear that this is a local version of the compact crossover T-Roc, popular in Europe. A special feature of the Discovery version is its very good equipment. True, the price for such a “baby” is considerable – from 19.7 thousand dollars.
At the same time, the characteristics leave much to be desired: the 1.2-liter turbo engine produces only 116 hp, there is no all-wheel drive, and a 7-speed DSG “robot” acts in the gearbox roller. But the declared consumption is low – only 5.6 liters per 100 km.
But the equipment is not bad: there is a digital dashboard, a media system with a 9.2-inch diagonal screen, a panoramic roof, exterior rear-view mirrors that automatically fold when parking (and tilt when reversing). However, for some reason, the auto-dimming interior rear-view mirror disappeared from the equipment.
