According to sources, this year Apple will indeed start using miniLED screens in new MacBook Pro models. The Cupertino-based company recently announced a 12.9-inch iPad Pro with such a screen.

According to new data, MacBook Pro laptops with new miniLED screens will initially be available in very limited quantities. Digitimes writes that the supply of such displays for MacBook laptops has been hit by the new wave of the coronavirus pandemic that has affected Foxconn and Wistron factories.

It is reported that the mass production of the new line of MacBook Pro laptops with miniLED screens may have to be delayed until the fourth quarter of 2021 or the first quarter of 2022 if the situation with the number of sick workers in factories continues to deteriorate.

In this case, the editor of the authoritative resource Bloomberg Mark Gurman (Mark Gurman) claims that laptops will be presented at the beginning of this summer. They will receive a new single-chip system that will be much faster than the Apple M1, as well as a completely redesigned case.

Experts of the analytical company Canalys have summed up the results of the third quarter of 2021 in one of the most important world markets for ready-made PCs – the American one. This market situation reflects the overall picture of the global PC market, which Canalys includes desktops, laptops, tablets and workstations.

In the third quarter of 2021, 30.3 million systems of these categories were sold in the United States, which is 16% less than in the third quarter of 2020.

Notebook shipments totaled 17.1 million units, down 15% year on year. This is due to the sharp drop in Chromebook sales as the education market has reached saturation. Tablet shipments fell 24% to 10.0 million units. Analysts attribute this to a decline in consumer demand. Desktop computers stand out against this background – their shipments grew by 6% and reached 3.2 million units. According to experts, this is due to the return of workers to offices and an increase in purchases in the corporate segment.

Dell was # 1 in the US PC market in the third quarter. It increased sales by 10.4%, which led to an increase in Dell’s share from 22.3% to 27.6%. At the same time, HP, ranked second, reduced sales by 30.7%, which resulted in a decrease in its share from 33.4% to 26.0%. Ranked third, Lenovo increased sales by 2.9%. Some new MacBook Pro 16 owners have encountered issues with MagSafe magnetic charging.

The problem is as simple as possible: laptops do not charge when the charger is connected via MagSafe. In this case, the indicator instead of green blinks yellow. The important thing is that the problem only occurs when the laptop is turned off (closed). When the mobile PC is active, charging takes place normally.

It’s unclear how common the problem is, but at least one user has already talked to Apple’s service center, and the company eventually decided to replace the laptop. Unfortunately, so far there are no other solutions to the problem.
