Imagination Technologies has officially unveiled IMG DXT GPUs, which the creators say will bring scalable ray tracing technology to mobile gamers.

Imagination said that IMG DXT allows manufacturers to integrate ray tracing technology into single-chip systems, and we are talking not only about premium, but also more affordable devices.

IMG DXT GPUs are available in multiple configurations and specifications. Manufacturers of budget devices can choose the basic version with a half-size Ray Acceleration Cluster (RAC). OEMs looking for increased performance can choose single, dual or quad RAC configurations for different applications.

IMG DXT supports Vulkan Fragment Shading Rate (FSR) technology, which reduces the number of rendered fragments and improves graphics performance with minimal impact on visual quality, while improving the efficiency of ray tracing.

The flagship processor DXT-72-2304 has a performance of 2.5 TFLOP. Compared to the previous generation, its maximum single-core performance has increased by 50%. The performance density per unit area of ​​the DXT core is 20% higher than that of the IMG CXT GPU, while significantly reducing power consumption.
