Qualcomm’s New Wireless Headphone Chipset Delivers Better Noise Canceling and Longer Battery Life

Qualcomm today unveiled a new wireless headphone chipset dubbed the QCC305x. This is a chip with four more powerful cores than the three cores of its 304x predecessor. The extra processing power will allow headphone manufacturers to offer features such as adaptive active noise canceling and wake words support for Alexa and Google Assistant.
The new chipset supports Qualcomm aptX Adaptive with audio resolution up to 96 kHz and aptX Voice for echo cancellation and noise cancellation during calls. What’s more, with the QCC305x, Qualcomm promises a full day of headphone battery life, although this will ultimately largely depend on the end manufacturer.
James Chapman, Vice President, General Manager of Voice, Music and Wearables, Qualcomm:
“The QCC305x SoC not only brings many of the latest and greatest audio features to our portfolio, it is also designed to meet the demands of the upcoming Bluetooth LE Audio standard.
Yes, the new chipset will support Bluetooth LE Audio. The standard is not yet finalized, but promises features such as multithreading for multiple synchronized audio streams from a single device and support for personal audio sharing. Location-based communication is also provided to allow visitors to public places such as airports and gyms to stream audio over Bluetooth.
