So Qualcomm is gradually approaching the final completion of the preparation and optimization stage of its new Snapdragon 875 processor chip, built on the basis of a conceptually new 5nm architecture and having a truly remarkable level of functionality compared to the current generation – especially when compared in the context of response.
First of all, it is worth knowing a few points about which it becomes clear why the Snapdragon 875 will clearly become the favorite among a large number of smartphone manufacturers very quickly – firstly, the processor is built on a 5nm architecture, which has about 20% more energy efficiency and 30% more performance compared to the current generation. And secondly, the model of this processor is being developed by the Taiwanese corporation TSMC, which has its own trump cards and strengths up its sleeve – it is already known that the contract between Qualcomm and TSMC amounted to more than 1 billion US dollars, so we can definitely say that models have every reason to become extremely useful, including for flagships.
In addition, Qualcomm’s engineering team plans to integrate a conceptually new GPU system into its new processor, which in turn will build on the use and redesign of the current A13 system.
All this and much more will surely lead to the fact that the Qualcomm Snapdragon 875 processor chip will be one of the most interesting and unusual in its segment – at least in the sense that it will be able to offer a significantly higher level of performance at a significantly lower price, which also is one of its future benefits. It is assumed that a complete set of this chip with support for the new 5G module will cost $ 250, although this figure will probably start to decline in the future.
