Qualcomm hits record 10Gbps on Snapdragon X65 on 5G network

Qualcomm Technologies announced that the Snapdragon X65 modem has managed to set a new 5G mobile data transfer record.

Snapdragon X65 supports 5G networks with autonomous (SA, standalone) and non-autonomous (NSA, non-standalone) architecture. It is also compatible with LTE, WCDMA (DB-DC-HSDPA), TD-SCDMA, CDMA 1x, GSM / EDGE networks. In other words, Snapdragon X65-based devices can operate on all generations of cellular networks.

Qualcomm announced that it has set a new record during the Mobile World Congress 2021 (MWC) in Barcelona, Spain. Download speed in millimeter wave (mmWave) exceeded 10 Gbps. Such speed seemed impossible in the 3G and 4G era.

This new era of 10 Gigabit 5G communications using millimeter wave (mmWave) will improve the everyday mobile experience of users. For example, with 5G mmWave fixed wireless access, users can get multi-gigabit fiber optic speeds and stream their favorite TV shows and movies in 4K resolution, make group video calls and work with colleagues from home using heavy cloud applications.

During his speech at MWC21, Qualcomm CEO Cristiano Amon also showed how the 5G sub-6 band on the Snapdragon X65 achieved download speeds in excess of 790 Mbps.

An enthusiast has created a giant working version of the

Like most home consoles, the Xbox Series X has been specifically designed to fit neatly into your living room. However, this was not enough for engineer Michael Pick, so he decided to create the world’s largest functional version of the Xbox Series X himself.

An enthusiast has created a giant working version of the Xbox Series X console

The author’s idea was partly inspired by a huge Microsoft refrigerator in the design of the console. However, the author wanted to keep the game features and copy the design exactly.

At the first stage, Peak had to create a wooden frame that mimics the body. Some parts had to be printed on a 3D printer and, mind you, glued. And on the rear panel of the giant console there are enlarged copies of real connectors – USB, audio and video output, network port, and so on.

Inside is the real Xbox Series X, and the button presses on the giant console are already transmitted to it. The final version is over 2 meters high, 1 meter wide and weighs 113 kg.

The giant Xbox Series X has already made it into the Guinness Book of Records. Michael donated it to the YMCA Youth and Adolescent Development Center in Atlanta, Georgia.
