The Israeli company NSO Group’s Pegasus software has been talked about a lot for a long time, but only a few have had to work with it. Now you can see what it is and how it is organized – screenshots of Pegasus leaked to the Web.

As you can see, the top panel is represented by shortcuts for accessing various smartphone services: contacts, geolocation data, camera photos, microphone recordings. One of the screenshots demonstrates the ability to remotely turn on the microphone, and the other has a “Take a picture” button using the camera. Thus, the user of a hacked smartphone may not even have a clue that wiretapping is being carried out through his phone and video or photo surveillance is being conducted. The software also provides access to correspondence in instant messengers and allows you to execute various commands on your mobile device. With Pegasus, you can hack not only Android smartphones, but also iPhones. However, not all Apple phones are hackable.

The NSO Group says it provides “technology to empowered governments to help them fight terrorism and crime” and claims to be sensitive to human rights. However, in 2021, a scandal erupted: the media published data according to which authoritarian regimes use Pegasus to hack into the phones of human rights activists, opposition journalists and lawyers. Pegasus is also used against politicians: there is evidence that about 600 government officials from 34 countries are among the victims of Pegasus.

Are Huawei flagships disappearing from the global market? The company has removed P50 smartphones from the range of global models, but not everywhere yet

However, the situation is not yet completely clear. Initially, the information was shared by a German thematic resource, and then it was repeated by many others. But the fact is that all models of the P50 line really disappeared from the German Huawei website, however, they are on the Huawei websites of some other European regions.

There are no official comments from Huawei itself, and therefore it is impossible to form a final picture. Perhaps Huawei has begun the process of withdrawing flagship devices from the global market, but it’s just that the changes have not yet been introduced on all regional sites.

The creator of the iPod and the Made for iPhone

Former Apple Vice President Tony Fadell is the creator of the iPod, who was responsible for developing the original player. Fadell shared his thoughts on the European Union requirements for an iPhone with a USB-C connector. The engineer believes that this is the correct requirement, and also added that Apple is in a monopoly position.

The former Apple VP said he was not concerned about the EU forcing Apple and other smartphone makers to use USB-C as “they’re just forcing Apple to do the right thing.”

In another tweet, Fadell said that this requirement is only being made because Apple has a monopoly. The engineer believes that some regulation and standardization is needed in the interests of consumers, since companies are not always interested in doing “the right thing in the public interest.”

He also noted that getting Apple to change the iPhone’s connector based on the environmental argument is “much easier than a monopoly litigation.” Fadell then said that Apple doesn’t like third parties telling it what to do.

Readers in the comments pointed out that Apple is against USB-C because the company makes a lot of money from the MFi (Made for iPhone/iPad) program for certified accessories. Fadell, who was behind the invention of the program, agreed with them.

The iPhone 14 Plus is being sold at a price

The iPhone 14 Plus, a large smartphone, went on sale today, which received a large 6.7-inch screen with a refresh rate of only 60 Hz, a resolution of 2778 x 1284 pixels, as well as the Apple A15 single-chip system. This is an enlarged copy of the iPhone 14.

According to Mydrivers, the iPhone 14 Plus is already being sold by various stores for about $55 less than what is listed on Apple’s official website. That is, demand is so small that sellers seem to be going to get rid of previously ordered smartphones as quickly as possible.

According to the official website of Apple in China, the delivery time for the iPhone 14 Plus is 3 business days, but those who wish can pick up the goods from offline stores today, as there are enough stocks. This contrasts sharply with the popularity of the iPhone 14 Pro Max. The current delivery time for the iPhone 14 Pro Max on the official Apple website is 4-5 weeks, and it is out of stock in offline stores.

iPhone 14 Plus also received a car accident detection function, which allows you to notify the emergency services in the event of an accident.
