The network found evidence that Google is preparing to release a new branded notebook of the Pixelbook series based on the operating system Chrome OS.
Presumably, the new Google Chromebook will be presented before the end of 2020. The device was codenamed Halvor. Actually, the main “evidence” was found in a recent code change, which gives Halvor support for a special Google Assistant button, which launches the proprietary voice assistant.
There are currently only three Chromebooks and three keyboards with a dedicated Google Assistant button:
- Google Pixelbook
- Google Pixel Slate Keyboard
- Google Pixelbook Go
- Brydge G-Type for Pixel Slate
- Brydge C-Type
- Logitech K580 Keyboard Chrome OS Edition
In another code change, enthusiasts have discovered yet another piece of clues that the Halvor keyboard will get exactly the same top-line layout as the Pixelbook Go.
Presumably, the laptop is built on the basis of Intel’s future eleventh generation Tiger Lake processors and 16 GB of RAM, received a keyboard, touch screen and touchpad.
