Power reserve of more than 600 km, unusual lighting technology, Huawei platform. China showed Changan C385, which will compete with Tesla Model 3
The announcement of the Changan C385 electric car took place at the end of last year, and now the company has shown a video with its tests in the snow, and also revealed additional details.
For example, it became known that Changan C385 is built on a completely new EPA1 platform – and this is the first model of the company on it. The dimensions of the car are 4820 x 1890 x 1480 mm, the length of the wheelbase is 2900 mm. Changan C385 is classified as a mid-size sedans, although the creators focus on its coupe-like profile. And also at a rather low drag coefficient – Cd = 0.23.
Like Tesla electric cars, the front side windows are devoid of a frame, but Tesla does not have such headlights and lanterns. Particularly interesting was the rear lighting. The edge of the trunk lid rises slightly to better organize the airflow (imitation of a small spoiler) at the rear.
Changan C385 will receive a relatively simple autopilot (second or third level) with support for fully automatic parking. The infotainment system will be built on a Huawei solution (the so-called Huawei Cockpit system) running HarmonyOS.
The range will reportedly exceed 600 km, but the developers will also offer a hydrogen fuel cell version of the car. Apparently, the start of sales of Changan C385 will take place in the near future. It is expected that the cost will be in the range of 31,500 – 47,000 dollars.

Audi wants to release a competitor for the Mercedes-Benz G-Class and Land Rover Defender

Audi already produces premium cars, but wants more. As it became known, the German giant is going to release an SUV that will compete not just with premium cars, but specifically with the Mercedes-Benz G-Class and Land Rover Defender.
The car, of course, will be electric and will not be released very soon: only in 2027. Of course, for this reason, there is very little information about the car. Most likely, Audi does not even have a specific design yet. But it is known that the car will be built on the VW Group platform.
Since the upcoming SSP platform, meant to be used across all VW Group brands as a replacement for MEB, has been delayed until at least 2028, Autocar writes that it’s highly likely that Audi will turn to nascent sister brand Scout.
Given that the novelty will have to compete with the Mercedes-Benz G-Class and Land Rover Defender, the Audi SUV will have to be not only premium, but also powerful, and also have excellent off-road capabilities.

Coupe-shaped sedan with headlights like a Porsche. Xiaomi MS11 – the first car of the Chinese company – was first shown on renderings

Xiaomi is testing its first MS11 car on public roads in China, but prototypes tend to be well wrapped up so as not to declassify the design ahead of time. However, leaks do happen – just the other day, photos of the front and rear bumpers of the MS11 hit the Web. “Draining” even had to be commented officially – it was confirmed that the components really belong to Xiaomi cars, but this, they say, is not the final version. However, having collected the data of all the leaks together, in China for the first time they recreated the appearance of the first Xiaomi car.
It is noted that it is not final, but very close to what is now being tested by the company. The images show a coupe sedan that resembles the Porsche Panamera in its appearance, and the electric Porsche Taycan with its headlights. The tide on the roof in the area of the windshield is a clear sign of lidar, a feature of the rear lighting is interconnected lights.
The official premiere of Xiaomi MS11 is expected this year, probably by the end. Specifications have not yet been disclosed. It is only known that the car will be offered with advanced BYD and CATL solid-state traction batteries. There is no doubt that the car will be powerful (otherwise why would it need an exterior like a sports car?), but at the same time affordable: the expected price is about 30-35 thousand dollars.

Huawei is already testing its third car. Crossover Aito M9 will be larger than Land Cruiser 300

In China, spy photos lit up a new crossover Huawei – Aito M9. A car on the roads was noticed for the first time, before that nothing was reported about it. According to preliminary data, Aito M9 will become a luxury SUV with a price of about 73 thousand dollars, and its main competitor in China will be Li Auto L9, the best car in China last year.
Huawei already has a large 6-seat crossover Aito M7, the new model will be larger and longer than the Land Cruiser 300. Aito M9 is expected to receive Huawei’s most advanced autonomous driving system (probably L3 or L3+ level) and will premiere in September -October. Perhaps Aito M9 will be presented on the same stage with Huawei’s flagship phones of the Mate 60 line (Aito M7 was presented on the same stage with Huawei nova 10).
Recall that at the moment Huawei has hybrids Aito M5 and Aito M5, as well as a pure electric car Aito M5 EV. Formally, the Aito M9 will be the fourth model of Huawei, in fact it will be the third car, since the Aito M5 EV is just a version of the Aito M5.
