PlayStation 5 vs. Xbox Series X in Resident Evil: Village. Is there a difference between consoles?

Published

on

Resident Evil: Village is one of the first ray tracing multiplatform games to hit PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series. Recently, the developers released the final demo, which allowed us to compare the performance and picture quality on Sony and Microsoft consoles.

So, in the case of the PS5 and XSX, the game runs at 2160p, and on the younger Xbox console, the resolution is 1440p. On older consoles, ray tracing is active by default, on Xbox Series S it must be turned on manually. In this case, the performance will be at the level of 35-40 fps, and with tracing disabled – the cherished 60 fps. Older consoles often produce 55-60 fps with tracing, but the performance drops on PS5 are slightly larger. But downloads on this console are a little faster.

You can also clearly see that the Sony set-top box has a slightly different white balance, but this can only be understood by comparison.

In general, we can state that all three consoles do an excellent job with the game even with ray tracing, and there is not much difference in the picture.
