Sony has officially announced that variable refresh rate (VRR) support will be added to PlayStation 5 consoles worldwide this week. On HDMI 2.1 compatible TVs and monitors, VRR technology dynamically synchronizes the display refresh rate with the graphics output of the PS5 console. This improves picture quality by minimizing or eliminating visual artifacts.

Gameplay in many PS5 games feels smoother, graphics look sharper, and input lag is reduced. Previously released PS5 games can be fully optimized for VRR with game patches, future games may include VRR support at launch.

The company’s revenue rose 2% to $52.7 billion, while net income fell 12% to $16.4 billion.

Game sales fell by 13%, hardware sales fell by the same amount, that is, primarily consoles, and revenue from services and services decreased by 12%.

At the same time, Microsoft notes the further growth of the Game Pass service, but, as always, does not name the number of users and revenue.

Is Intel preparing a new Arc graphics card for budget gamers? Model with 16 Xe cores lit up on the Web

The unnamed model showed up in CompuBench. It is known that this model has 256 computing units, that is, 16 Xe cores. We have not seen such a configuration among desktop adapters before. Recall that the Arc A580 model, which we were told about back in the summer and which has not yet been released, has 24 Xe cores.

At the same time, Intel has a mobile Arc A550M with 16 Xe cores, which means that the company may be preparing a desktop version of this model.
