PlayStation 4 begins to be discontinued

The tech giant is almost completely ending production of the PlayStation 4 in Japan. The only version of the console to continue production will be the 500GB PlayStation 4 Slim.
PlayStation 4 Pro is completely discontinued. Sony argues such a move with a desire to use all the forces on the production of the PlayStation 5. Since the release of the console, gamers have faced a huge shortage of devices, which is still observed.
If you go to the Japanese Sony website, then on the official page displayed PS4 Slim version only. But why didn’t the manufacturer leave the Pro version? This is most likely due to the fact that the Slim version remains the more popular console and has a lower price tag.
By the way, the same can be said about the Xbox One. Microsoft announced the same move a few months before the release of the Xbox Series X / S in July 2020. If such a move will indeed increase the number of consoles being produced, then this move might be considered reasonable.
