Peddy robot takes care of pets while owner is away

The South Korean company Guru IoT has introduced Peddy, a robot whose task is to be a companion of a pet, such as a dog, while the owner is not at home.
The robot can feed the pet, will not let him get bored and will provide video communication with the owner. Built-in sensors for temperature, humidity and noise allow the robot to react to sudden changes in the environment by transmitting a panoramic image of what is happening to the owner’s smartphone.
“With PEDDY, pet owners can video chat with their pets while away from home. Since the robot is equipped with an emotional interaction function, it can help pets cope with depression caused by less walking due to COVID-19, ”said a spokesman for Guru IoT.
The robot measures 302 x 364 x 260 mm and weighs 3.8 kg. It is equipped with a GPS receiver, a variety of sensors, a Bluetooth 4.0 interface and a 4G LTE cellular modem. The robot is powered by a 10,000 mAh battery and can move at a speed of 10 cm / s. It costs about $ 315.
