Parallels Launches Test M1 Virtual Machine for Mac with Windows 10 ARM Support




Parallels released Preview version of Parallels Desktop virtual machine 16 – it supports Apple computers based on the M1 chip and systems for the ARM platform.

So the M1-based version of Parallels for MacBook is still in testing, there are several features:

  • Operating systems for Intel and AMD (x86) processors do not work on it.
  • 32-bit ARM applications do not work in the virtual machine.
  • You cannot pause and resume a virtual machine, including returning to a restore point.
  • The Close button does not work when the virtual machine is running; instead, you must shut down the system in the virtual machine.


If you want to test Parallels Desktop 16 for Mac on an M1 processor now, you can register for the testing program on the official Parallels website.
