Panasonic SoundSlayer SC-GN01 Shoulder Gaming Speaker

Panasonic has introduced an unusual Wearable Immersive Gaming Speaker System (WIGSS) SoundSlayer SC-GN01. This device can be compared to headphones, but unlike them, the SC-GN01 is worn not on the ears, but on the shoulders, looking like a collar. According to the manufacturer, “the unique ergonomic design” allows you to “comfortably enjoy realistic surround sound, immersed in your favorite game.”

SoundSlayer WIGSS has three game modes: RPG mode, first person shooter mode and voice mode.

The former is ideal for RPGs and is optimized for FINAL FANTASY XIV Online. It is said to “create a sense of reality” so that players feel like they are inside the virtual world of the game.

The second mode accurately conveys the location of the sound source, so users have an advantage in games of the above genre.

Finally, the voice mode emphasizes human voices and “immerses you in the atmosphere” of adventure games.

SoundSlayer WIGSS also has music and movie modes.

The presence of dual microphones with noise and echo cancellation allows you to communicate with other players.

The SoundSlayer WIGSS design includes four 30mm broadband drivers for a total output of 4W. The original technology True MAGESS (Majestic Augmented Gaming Environment Sound System) is used for sound processing. According to the manufacturer, it allows you to get high-quality surround sound.

For connection to a computer or consoles, the shoulder pads have a USB-A connector and a 3.5 mm audio jack. The device measures 240 x 46 x 209 mm and weighs 244 g. The source does not quote its price.

We are talking about Xiaomi Mi 8, Mi 9 SE, Mi 9 Explorer, Mi 9, Redmi K20 Pro and Redmi K20 Pro Premium. The company no longer produces spare parts for them, and the official service may refuse to repair.

Xiaomi has also excluded the Redmi K20 Pro and Redmi K20 Pro Premium from its battery replacement program. Apparently, for the same reason: batteries for these phones are no longer produced.

Tesla unveiled its latest iteration of its Dojo supercomputer, which proved to be so powerful it shut down the power grid in Palo Alto.

Dojo is Tesla’s own dedicated supercomputing platform, built from the ground up for AI machine learning and specifically for video training using video data coming from Tesla electric vehicles.

The automaker already has a large supercomputer powered by Nvidia GPUs, which is one of the most powerful in the world, but Dojo’s new custom computer uses Tesla-designed chips and infrastructure.

The new supercomputer will boost Tesla’s ability to train neural networks using video data, which is critical for computer vision technology to enable self-driving driving. A year ago, the company first announced the creation of Dojo. Now she spoke about the progress made over the year.

Tesla claims it can replace 6 GPU blocks with a single tile (Dojo tile), which the company claims costs less than one GPU block. On a tray (system tray) 6 such tiles. “We knew we needed to rethink every aspect of the data center infrastructure to deliver unprecedented cooling and power density,” said Bill Chang, Tesla’s chief system engineer for the Dojo project.

They had to develop their own powerful cooling and power system for Dojo cabinets. Chang confirmed that Tesla shut down its local power grid substation while testing Dojo: “Earlier this year, we began stress testing our power and cooling infrastructure and managed to increase capacity by more than 2 MW before we shut down our substation and received a call from cities”.

The developers of the AnTuTu benchmark have published another performance rating of top smartphones for September. It has only one model on a MediaTek single-chip platform, but it is also the best.
