The verified Chinese informant Digital Chat Station has revealed key parameters of the new MediaTek Dimensity 7000 SoC, which is due to be unveiled shortly.

It is reported that the MediaTek Dimensity 7000 will be manufactured using a 5nm manufacturing process by TSMC. The mobile platform will include four Cortex-A78 cores and four small Cortex-A55 cores. The processor frequency reaches 2.75 GHz, and the Mali-G510 MC6 will act as a graphics accelerator.

More importantly, MediaTek’s Dimensity 7000 score on AnTuTu surpasses 750,000 points. This allowed the new product to easily surpass the Snapdragon 870, which scores about 700,000 points in the popular benchmark. That being said, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 uses the Cortex A77 architecture based on TSMC’s older 7nm process technology.

According to official figures, compared to the Cortex-A77, the single-threaded performance of the Cortex A78 has increased by 7% and the power consumption has decreased by 4%. In practical applications, when combined with the updated Cortex-A78 technology, it can improve performance by 20% at the same power consumption, or save up to 50% in power at the same performance.

Digital Chat Station was the first to accurately report the specifications and release dates of the Redmi K30, K40, Xiaomi Mi 10 and Mi 11.
