According to AndroidPolice, the creators of the Essential PH-1 (Essential Phone) smartphone are working on a new device called the Osom OV1. An Android smartphone is focused on privacy.

Osom Products was founded by Jason Keats last year in Quebec, Canada. The company includes many of the creators of the Essential PH-1 with the exception of former team leader Andy Rubin. This smartphone makes it interesting to get information at any time about what information applications are accessing. Jason Keats said that in this regard, Osom OV1 will outperform other Android smartphones by 100 times.

Osom OV1 received a camera with an unusual design, as well as two image sensors. The fingerprint scanner is located on the back. It is built around an unknown Qualcomm SoC and will run with an almost standard Android interface.

A full presentation of the novelty will take place in February at the Mobile World Congress 2022. At the same time, Jason Keats immediately noted that the Osom OV1 is not a successor to the Essential PH-1, and that the phone will use Google Mobile Services.

The smartphone will be released next summer.

Judging by the available data, in China the novelty will cost only about 218 dollars. At the same time, for example, there is a periscope telephoto. This 8 MP camera provides 5x optical zoom and 50x digital zoom. There is also a 48MP main camera and a depth sensor. That is, unlike some even flagship smartphones, there is no width in the set, but there is a telephoto lens, and also a periscope one.

The H60 also received 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of flash memory, which at $218 is a very good deal. One of the secrets of the low price is the platform. This is Unisoc T7520 (Recently, some sources of the Unisoc platform are called Ziguang, but Ziguang is simply part of the Tsinghua Unigroup holding).
