The Chinese company OPPO is preparing to release a new smartphone, which will become part of the Reno line. We are talking about a device called OPPO Reno5 Pro Plus 5G, the technical characteristics of which have now become public knowledge.

OPPO Reno5 Pro Plus 5G will be the first smartphone

The OPPO Reno5 Pro Plus 5G is expected to debut next Thursday, December 10, alongside the OPPO Reno5 5G and Reno5 Pro 5G, and will be the senior model in this trio. Externally, OPPO Reno5 Pro Plus 5G will be similar to the younger brothers, but will receive a more powerful filling. The heart of the smartphone will be the flagship eight-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 chipset. The sources did not specify how much RAM and internal memory it will receive, but we expect to see at least 8 GB of RAM and a 128 GB drive. Of course, there will be support for fifth generation cellular networks, as indicated by the abbreviation 5G in the name of the new smartphone.

A so-called quad camera will be installed at the back. Sources claim the OPPO Reno5 Pro Plus 5G will be the first smartphone on the market to be equipped with a 50MP Sony IMX sensor. The company will include a 12-megapixel module with a telephoto lens and 2x optical zoom, a 16-megapixel sensor with ultra-wide-angle optics and an additional fourth module, the resolution and purpose of which is still unknown.

One of the main features of the new OPPO Reno5 Pro Plus 5G will be the unique design of the back panel, which will be made of electrochromic glass. This means that the cover will be able to change its color and transparency, and it will be the first smartphone available on the market with such a chip.

As you can see, the design will still be very unusual with many different elements and accents, but this is normal for a gaming smartphone. The camera module will change somewhat, although in general Asus is clearly not trying to make the new model radically different from the previous one.

Should HTC have gone back to making smartphones HTC Desire

HTC has been intriguing over the past few weeks with a flagship smartphone with a focus on virtual and augmented reality technologies, but in fact it turned out to be the $405 HTC Desire 22 Pro, built on the Snapdragon 695. It’s certainly not a flagship, but the price is considerable.

HTC Desire 22 Pro received a screen with a diagonal of 6.6 inches, Full HD + resolution and a frame rate of 120 Hz, as well as a triple main camera with sensors with a resolution of 64, 13 and 5 MP. Judging by the picture, there is no periscope module, which means that the “optical zoom” will be achieved due to the difference in focal lengths of different lenses.

In the configuration of the device, there is also protection in accordance with the degree of IP67 (and this is really not often found in mid-range models), a 4520 mAh battery (both wireless and reverse wireless charging are supported), pre-installed Android 12. The configuration is one – with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of flash memory.
