OPPO Reno5 5G and Reno5 Pro 5G officially presented

OPPO launches Reno5 series smartphones six months after the launch of Reno4. The company today announced the launch of two models: OPPO Reno5 5G and Reno5 Pro 5G. In addition, the company will release the New Year version of the Reno5 Pro 5G smartphone on December 29th.
OPPO Reno5 series smartphones have been leaked a number of times, and the company has released teasers to warm up the public. Thanks to this, even before the launch, it became known that the company was preparing powerful camera phones. Here, for example, the company demonstrated the design of future new products, revealing the key characteristics, and here you can read the latest leak that appeared just before the official launch. Let’s consider the presented novelties separately.
OPPO Reno5 5G is the standard version of the smartphone. The device received a 6.43-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2400 × 1080 pixels (Full HD +), a screen refresh rate of 90 Hz and a brightness of 750 nits. The 32 megapixel front camera is located in the upper left corner.
The rear camera is a rectangular module with rounded corners, which is located in the corner of the panel. There are 4 cameras installed here according to the scheme 64 + 8 + 2 + 2 Mp. Among the options that make it possible to call the new product a camera phone, there are electronic image stabilization, Live HDR even for night shooting, video with bokeh effect, the ability to simultaneously record and broadcast video. In addition, a set of professional tools is offered for portrait photography.
The “heart” of the system is the Snapdragon 765G processor. The OPPO Reno5 5G smartphone is equipped with a 4300mAh battery, supporting the 65W SuperVOOC 2.0 fast charging function. The model runs on Android 11 with the installed shell ColorOS 11. There are Bluetooth 5.1, USB-C, audio jack, face unlock function. The fingerprint reader is located under the screen. The model supports the installation of two SIM-cards in nano format.
Memory configurations (RAM + UFS 2.1 internal memory) and price of OPPO Reno5 5G smartphone:
- 8GB + 128GB ~ $ 413;
- 12GB + 256GB ~ $ 458.
OPPO Reno5 Pro 5G has a 6.55-inch OLED display with similar resolution and refresh rate. The brightness has increased to 1100 nits. The manufacturer notes that panels from different suppliers are used, so they may vary slightly.
The configuration of the PRO version cameras is similar to the standard one, but the front camera has a narrower viewing angle.
Other notable differences include the Dimensity 1000+ platform instead of Snapdragon. This model has NFC, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.1 and a 4350 mAh battery with the same charging power. The rest of the versions are not much different.
Memory configurations and prices of OPPO Reno5 Pro 5G smartphones:
- 8GB + 128GB ~ $ 519;
- 12GB + 256GB ~ $ 580.
Both versions will go on sale on December 18th and are now open for pre-order in China. The Oppo Reno5 Pro 5G New Year Edition will be available with 8GB + 128GB storage configuration.
