OPPO patents a smartphone with a pop-up selfie camera in the shape of a semicircle

Just a few days ago, one of OPPO’s patents was declassified. We are talking about the design of a smartphone with a semicircular retractable front camera.
LetsGoDigital has discovered a patent published by Guangdong Oppo Mobile Telecommunications on November 12. The patent contains a sketch of a smartphone with an unusual design of the front camera. The pop-up front camera is made in the shape of a semicircle, and the design itself is combined into one module with the main camera.
Speaking of the main camera, we see three modules, one of which is a periscope lens with a 15x hybrid zoom. All main camera modules are arranged in one line, as, for example, in the Galaxy S10 series. Based on the sketches, LetsGoDigital experts have constructed a render of how this smartphone might look:
Note that the patent does not always indicate that the smartphone will be released for sure. Instead, OPPO may use some of the technologies presented in the patent, or not use them at all. Anyway, tomorrow during the OPPO INNO DAY 2020 event, we may learn more about it.
Looking for an OPPO smartphone? We recommend that you take a look at our catalog, which contains many models, including the OPPO Reno 2Z with a retractable front camera.
