Oppo is already preparing a mid-range smartphone with a Sony IMX890 sensor, which will replace the popular IMX766
Oppo is preparing a new mid-range smartphone that will debut the Sony IMX890 image sensor. This was announced by an insider known as Digital Chat Station.
Reportedly, the phone will also receive an additional chip – a proprietary 6-nanometer MariSilicon X NPU of its own design, designed to improve the quality of photos and videos. The model will be mid-level and, accordingly, not very expensive (approximate price – 300-400 dollars).
Nothing is known about the Sony IMX890 yet. According to the same Digital Chat Station, the sensor should replace the popular IMX 586 (48 MP) and IMX766 (50 MP) sensors. Since Sony, unlike Samsung, is not chasing a large number of megapixels, you can think that the resolution of the IMX890 will remain at 50 megapixels, but the sensor itself will become larger. The insider says that in future flagships, the IMX890 will be used in additional modules of the main camera (with an ultra-wide angle lens), and in mid-range models this sensor will be the main one.
Previously, Digital Chat Station was the first to accurately announce the specifications and release dates of Redmi K50 and Xiaomi 12.

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 platform is expected to be presented in a month, and more and more test results for this SoC are appearing on the Internet. The new one is interesting because the platform was tested inside the new generation gaming smartphone Asus ROG Phone.
In Geekbench 6, the device scored 2213 and 7084 points in single-threaded and multi-threaded modes, respectively. This is significantly more than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 shows, but the new SoC Apple A17 Pro is still ahead with a score of about 2900 and 7200 points.
Moreover, if you cool the iPhone 15 Pro Max with an external fan, the result will be even higher: about 3000 and 7800 points. However, this only shows that the new iPhones do not have high-quality cooling, and in reality no one will carry an iPhone fan with them anyway.
Let us remember that Geekbench in this form is a benchmark of the processor part only. As for the GPU, yesterday we saw how the A17 Pro was significantly inferior to even the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 in one of the tests.
