OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro received an update to the stable version of Android 11

OnePlus has released an update for the OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro smartphones. They got the OxygenOS 11 firmware based on the stable build of Android 11.

OxygenOS 11 brings smartphones an optimized dark theme, live wallpapers, support for the OnePlus Sans system font and several other innovations.

What’s new:

  • New visual design for the launcher and built-in apps
  • Improved interface for one-handed smartphone control
  • Always-on Display support with 11 new watch faces
  • Live wallpapers that change depending on the time of day
  • OnePlus Sans font with improved readability
  • Optimized dark mode with the ability to turn on and off via quick settings
  • Three new themes in Zen mode, the ability to share settings with friends
  • Automatically compose stories from photos and videos in the gallery


OxygenOS 11 installs on OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro while keeping apps, settings and all user data. The update is distributed over Wi-Fi.

Previously, OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro participated in the beta testing program, they had access to an experimental build of OxygenOS 11 based on Android 11 Developer Preview 3. In the future, owners of several more models can count on the update, including OnePlus 7T Pro, OnePlus 7T, OnePlus 7 Pro, OnePlus 7, OnePlus 6T, OnePlus 6 and OnePlus Nord.
