OnePlus 11 is the worst Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 flagship in terms of battery life

Even before the official premiere of OnePlus 11, the company painted the power subsystem of the new phone in paint – its 5000 mAh battery and support for 100 W fast charging technology. But in fact, it turned out that OnePlus 11 is the worst of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 flagships, based on battery life.

One of the Chinese bloggers has already tested all phones on Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for autonomy (in fact, the list of tested models is much longer and includes phones on a variety of platforms): it turned out that in the same scenarios, with constant work with the screen on, the autonomy of OnePlus 11 is the lowest – only 5 hours and 33 minutes. Both Xiaomi 13 Pro and Vivo X90 Pro + work longer, and they are equipped with 4820 and 4700 mAh batteries, respectively.

The reason for the OnePlus 11’s significant lag behind competitors in terms of autonomy, apparently, is in the unoptimized firmware. The blogger noted that the battery consumption when working with the mobile application of the Chinese social network Weibo in OnePlus 11 is 80% (!) More than that of Xiaomi 13 Pro. Not only social networking apps, but also music streaming services consume battery quickly. Probably, OnePlus 11 will be able to fix this with firmware updates, but so far the device is a clear outsider in autonomy tests.

And then which of the flagships on Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is the best? This is a gaming Nubia Red Magic 8 Pro with a 6000 mAh battery. In tests, it lasted 8 hours and 17 minutes (however, the phone was tested at Full HD resolution, but also at 120 Hz). Well, in general, the autonomy rating of flagships on Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 looks like this:

  • Nubia Red Magic 8 Pro (tested at Full HD resolution and 120 Hz frame rate, 6000 mAh) – 8 hours 17 minutes;
  • Nubia Z50 (tested at Full HD resolution and a frame rate of 144 Hz, 5000 mAh) – 6 hours 54 minutes;
  • Redmi K60 Pro (tested at 2K resolution and 120 Hz frame rate, 5000 mAh) – 6 hours 44 minutes;
  • iQOO 11 (tested at 2K, 144Hz, 5000mAh) – 6 hours 23 minutes;
  • Xiaomi 13 (tested at Full HD resolution and a frame rate of 120 Hz, 4500 mAh) – 6 hours 17 minutes;
  • Xiaomi 13 Pro (tested at 2K resolution and 120 Hz frame rate, 4820 mAh) – 6 hours 2 minutes;
  • Vivo X90 Pro + (tested at 2K resolution and 120Hz frame rate, 4700 mAh) – 6 hours 1 minute;
  • OnePlus 11 (tested at 2K, 120Hz, 5000mAh) – 5 hours 33 minutes.

What this model will be called is still unclear, but based on early leaks, it could be the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti. True, those very leaks attributed to it a little less CUDA cores, that is, the GPU will be slightly cut.

So, the AD106 configuration allegedly includes 4608 CUDA cores. Also, the specified video card has 8 GB of memory and probably a 128-bit bus. Tests in AIDA64 are not related to reality, but the results in 3DMark are already more useful.

The GeForce RTX 4060 Ti (let’s call it that for convenience) was compared with the RTX 3070 Ti and RTX 2080 Super. You can see that the new product, depending on the test, is either a little faster or a little slower than the RTX 3070 Ti. We can say that there is parity between the cards. At the same time, the TDP of the novelty is 180 W versus 290 W for the RTX 3070 Ti.

According to the leaks, the RTX 4060 Ti will receive not 4608 CUDA cores, but 4352 cores, that is, about 5% less. Accordingly, the performance may be a little less, but here the situation will also depend on the frequencies. Either way, if the information is correct, the RTX 4060 Ti will be about 20-25% faster than the RTX 3060 Ti. However, at the same time, you need to understand that the new product can be more expensive, because so far in the RTX 40 line, this is exactly the situation relative to the RTX 30.

Haier introduced the Boyue G43 laptop based on the Chinese Zhaoxin KX-6000G processor. This mobile PC was nominally shown at the time of the announcement of the CPU in November, but now a full-fledged announcement has taken place.

The Boyue G43 also has 8GB of DDR4 RAM, a 512GB SSD, a 14-inch Full HD IPS screen, and a 65Wh battery. It is extremely difficult to judge autonomy, given the little-studied processor. But we do know that it has a TDP of 15W.

There’s also a backlit keyboard, fingerprint scanner, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.0, USB 3.1, USB-C (x2), USB 2.0 (x2), and HDMI. The laptop can run both Windows and UOS and Kirin. Unfortunately, there is no price information yet.

As for the processor, we recall that the KX-6000G is a quad-core solution, which is produced using the 16 nm process technology. The CPU operates at frequencies of 2.0-3.0 GHz and has an integrated C-1080 graphics core with support for DirectX 12, OpenCL 1.2, OpenGL 4.6 and 4K displays.
