A well-known analyst who often accurately reports on Apple innovations, Ming-Chi Kuo has released new information for investors, stating that Apple’s augmented reality headset will be released in the second quarter of 2022. Earlier it was reported that it will be released in 2023.
We predict Apple will launch a helmet-shaped augmented reality device in the second quarter of 2022. The device will provide a transparent image in augmented reality, so a lens is also required.
Ming-Chi Kuo also mentions Apple’s camera lens supply chain, citing Taiwanese company Genius Electronic Optical (GSEO) as the main supplier for the upcoming iPhone 13 series of smartphones, as well as augmented reality headsets. Apple’s AR headset is expected to use Sony microLED displays with transparency mode for augmented reality content and opaque mode for virtual reality content. A total of 15 cameras will be deployed to provide users with an “impressive experience”.
The device will weigh from 200 to 300 g, and you will need a computer or laptop, since a fully portable version of the device will not appear until 2025, the analyst said.
The headset will be priced at around $ 1,000.
