One by Wacom graphics tablet now guaranteed to work with Chromebooks

For all its merits, Chromebooks have limitations. Let’s say most of them do not have a pen, and even if it is, it is not as good as a graphics tablet.

Wacom has corrected the situation. At least in part. Her graphic tablet One by Wacom (not to be confused with the Wacom One) is now guaranteed to work with Chromebooks. This is evidenced by the receipt of the corresponding Works with Chromebook certification.

As a reminder, One by Wacom does not have a screen and is a touch pad compatible only with the included pen. It’s not the best Wacom pen, but not bad either – it recognizes 2048 pressure levels. Plus, it doesn’t have a power source that needs to be changed or charged.

You don’t need to install drivers or other software to use One by Wacom. Simply connect your tablet to your Chromebook using the USB-A connector. By the way, if your Chromebook comes with its own USI-compatible nib, the One by Wacom nib won’t interfere with its work.

The tablet and pen support Clip Studio Paint (in Chrome OS 8.7 or later) as well as educational apps such as Kami, Pear Deck, Limnu, and Explain Everything. Of course, One by Wacom can be used not only with a Chromebook, but also with a PC running macOS or Windows.

One by Wacom tablets are available in two sizes, with an active area of 152 x 95 mm and 216 x 135 mm.

Carbon fiber foldable iPad coming next year

It looks like Apple will indeed release a foldable iPad relatively soon. Tianfeng International analyst Ming-Chi Kuo says the company is working on a tablet with a completely new design.

Carbon fiber foldable iPad coming next year

In addition to being a foldable iPad, meaning it will have a flexible display, the device will also offer a carbon fiber stand. It is worth noting here that a stand for tablets usually means a separate accessory, but in this case, perhaps, we are talking about part of the main structure, since in a partially folded state, the tablet should normally stand on the surface and without any third-party stands.

Such a tablet is supposedly due out next year, and Kuo expects its release to have a positive impact on Apple tablet sales. At the same time, other new iPads may not come out at all in the next 9-12 months.
