The Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2 smartwatch has received a major software update that adds features to last year’s model, which debuted recently in the Galaxy Watch 3 and added to them immediately after its release.
The drop detection feature is one of the most widely advertised for the Apple Watch and Galaxy Watch 3. It has now been added to the Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2. The watch allows you to quickly report what happened to four saved contacts.
Added advanced “running analysis” with detailed indicators such as asymmetry, regularity, stiffness, vertical oscillations and time of contact with the ground, as well as the so-called VO readings 2 max, indicating the maximum amount of oxygen that a person can use during intense exercise to increase endurance.
The Galaxy Watch Active 2 also has many features designed to help you “live more comfortably”, starting with smart answers. Whenever you receive a message or even an image, smart watches provide “recommended responses” based on text analysis and “advanced photo recognition technology” to save you time.
You can also save time by viewing photos and smilies, as well as checking your chat history on the watch screen, instead of constantly accessing a connected Android phone or iPhone.
Added support for AR Emoji and Bitmoji stickers without having to switch between a smart watch and a smartphone for “fun replies” to messages, as well as the function of taking a screenshot that is sent to the smartphone.
Samsung also promises “even more convenient music playback on all your devices” without going into details.
Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 features are expected to appear on other Samsung smartwatches as well.
