Official sales of PlayStation 5 in China ended a few seconds after the start

Today, an epoch-making event for gamers in China took place: official sales of the PlayStation 5 game console finally began in this country. The device reached the Celestial Empire six months after the start of global sales – it is not difficult to imagine how much the demand turned out to be rush.

In fact, the entire volume of pre-orders was sold out literally in seconds: on the largest trading platforms TMall and JD.com, a “novelty” cannot be ordered even with a deposit. However, for the Chinese gaming community, very few consoles were allocated: on the same JD.com – a little more than 28,000 pieces.

Real sales of PlayStation 5 in China will begin on May 15 – by that time the number of consoles in warehouses will clearly increase, but in the same way, everything will obviously be sold out very quickly. In China, the price of the base version of the PS5 without an optical drive was $ 480, the PS5 with an optical drive was priced at $ 600.

Known for its outlandish design gaming PCs, MSI has released its latest creation, the MSI MAG Trident S 5M. And this model strongly resembles the Xbox One S console. For example, the new PC can be installed horizontally or vertically, its layout as a whole repeats the design of the gaming system from Microsoft. This applies to the placement of ports, cooling systems and the like.

However, the similarities end in appearance (except for the letter S in the title). MAG Trident S 5M is devoid of a discrete graphics card, so you can call it gaming only with a stretch. It uses a Ryzen 5000 processor – you can choose from Ryzen 7, 5 and 3 options with integrated Radeon graphics.

The novelty supports up to 64 GB of DDR4 RAM. The disk subsystem is represented by two M.2 slots for Gen 3 or 4 SSDs plus space for a hard drive. And all this is housed in a case with a volume of just over two liters. At the same time, we note that to increase the amount of RAM or replace drives, the case can be easily opened.

Among other features, we note three video outputs (one each HDMI 2.0, DP 1.4 and VGA), as well as a USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C 15 W port on the front panel for fast charging smartphones or tablets.

MSI is positioning its PC as a gaming console for streaming games that can be installed in the living room. Declared support for Steam Remote, MSI App player and Xbox Game Pass. The OS is Windows 11.

Note that for the first time the novelty was shown at the beginning of this year at CES 2022.

Sony will not let you enjoy the old games to the fullest. PS3 projects within PS Plus will be released without add-ons

And now it became known that such games, unfortunately, will not support add-ons. DLC may someday be added, but at first you definitely shouldn’t expect them.

For example, Asura’s Wrath, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2, Crash Commando, Enslaved: Odyssey to the West and a number of other games received various kinds of add-ons at one time, for some projects there were a lot of such DLCs. But within the framework of PS Plus, it will not be possible to try them out. The source also publishes a list of PS3 games, but we published them a week ago, when Sony itself did this.

As a reminder, today we also learned that some classic games will work even worse on the new consoles than on the original PlayStation.

Some classic games on the PlayStation 5 will not work

Yesterday we got our first look at the classic PlayStation game available as part of the new PS Plus subscription for PlayStation 5 owners. Today, new details about such games have appeared.

Some classic games on the PlayStation 5 will not work as well as on the original console. All because of the PAL standard

In particular, it turned out that a number of games work with a frame rate of only 50 Hz and according to the PAL standard. For example, this applies to Ape Escape. At the same time, the original game on the PlayStation worked according to the NTSC standard, which makes the gameplay feel smoother.

We know for sure that not all classic PS Plus games will work on PAL. For example, Siphon Filter and Abe’s Odyssey work according to the NTSC standard. However, unfortunately, all Sony Japan Studio games will be the same as Ape Escape.

A complete list of all the games available on PS Plus has also appeared, but for now only for the Asian region. You can get acquainted with them at this link, but in other regions the list may be slightly different.
