Nvidia, where are the normal prices for inexpensive video cards? In Europe, prices fell by half of the Radeon RX 6000 models and just two RTX 30 models

Despite the fact that a few months ago the average prices for video cards were at the level of recommended values, individual models have room for cheaper prices and they are getting cheaper.

Nvidia, where are the normal prices for inexpensive video cards? In Europe, prices fell by half of the Radeon RX 6000 models and just two RTX 30 models

In particular, affordable AMD models were actively getting cheaper in the first half of the year and now they are generally not getting cheaper, but the more expensive ones continue to fall.

For example, as you can see, the Radeon RX 6950 XT, instead of 1173 euros a couple of months ago, now costs only 900 euros, and this is the most productive AMD card and, together with the GeForce RTX 3090 Ti, one of the most productive on the market in general. At least until the start of sales of the RTX 4090. At the same time, just a couple of months ago, the RX 6900 XT cost the same as the RX 6950 XT now, the RX 6800 XT, like the RX 6900 XT, and so on.

Things are not so good with Nvidia cards. Here, only two top models fell in price, however, both are very significant. The situation is worse with other adapters. For example, the popular RTX 3060 is now worth as much as the significantly more powerful RX 6650 XT, and the RTX 3080 Ti is 100 euros more expensive than the RX 6950 XT.

Intel wants to release a processor with more than a

Intel is going to create processors with more than a trillion transistors in less than 10 years.

At the IEDM 2022 event, the company published nine research papers on future developments and plans. In particular, it describes new 2D materials for transistors, a new 3D packaging technology that will reduce the performance and power gap between chiplets and single-chip processors to an almost imperceptible range, and so on. There is also information about Intel’s plans to release processors with more than a trillion transistors by 2030.

Intel is betting heavily on a new 3D packaging technology for Quasi-Monolithic Chips (QMC). The bottom line is that QMC aims to offer almost the same performance as interconnects used in monolithic chips. QMC is known to be a new sub-3 micron pitch hybrid interconnect technology that results in a 10x increase in power efficiency and performance density compared to Intel designs presented at last year’s IEDM. The 10 micron step approach was described last year, and even that was already a 10x improvement over current technologies. That is, Intel, at least on paper, was able to achieve a 100-fold improvement in energy efficiency and density in just a few years. In addition, QMC also allows multiple chips to be stacked vertically on top of each other.

Interestingly, the rate of increase in the density of transistors in the foreseeable future, according to Intel’s plans, will approximately correspond to Moore’s law. At the same time, prices for semiconductor products will continue to grow.

No cheap Radeon RX 7900? In China, orders for these video cards are placed with a markup of $ 200-500 over the recommended price.

No cheap Radeon RX 7900 In China orders for these

Officially, sales of the latest flagship AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX and Radeon RX 7900 XT graphics cards will start in a week, but pre-orders have already begun to be issued in China. Local residents did not see the recommended prices.

No cheap Radeon RX 7900? In China, orders for these video cards are placed with a markup of $ 200-500 over the recommended price.

Recall that the recommended price for the reference Radeon RX 7900 XTX for China is 8,000 yuan ($1,140), the Radeon RX 7900 XT is 7,400 yuan ($1,055). What’s in reality? The semi-clones of the reference PowerColor Radeon RX 7900 XTX and Radeon RX 7900 XT of the Hellhound family, which we wrote about today, are available for order on the Taobao site at a price of 9788 and 8688 yuan, respectively (1395 and 1235 dollars). That is, if we talk about even the basic models, then the markup is 255 and 180 dollars.

Top solutions are even more expensive: the non-reference (and obviously overclocked) PowerColor RX 7900 XTX Red Devil is priced at 11,399 yuan ($1,625), which is already $485 more than the recommended retail price.

But this is not the limit: in another store, the Radeon RX 7900 XTX is offered for 12,999 yuan ($1,850), and the Radeon 7900 XT is offered for 8,999 yuan ($1,425).

The situation in the Chinese market is not particularly different from the situation in other countries, so we can think that both in Europe and in the US, the Radeon RX 7900 will be offered at a higher price than the recommended price. Even if we are talking about reference solutions.

Xiaomi enters the desktop PC market The company is preparing

It seems that Xiaomi has decided not to stop at laptops and is preparing to introduce its first desktop PC.

Xiaomi enters the desktop PC market. The company is preparing two mini PCs, one of which will be based on the Ryzen 7 6800U

The Network got data about two Xiaomi computers at once, and in both cases we are talking about a mini-PC. The first one will be called Mini Host. It was supposed to be presented yesterday, but the corresponding event was postponed.

Little is known so far. In particular, the dimensions of the case are such that a mini-ITX motherboard can fit there. There is also a 100W power supply, which may hint at the approximate capabilities of the novelty, but not the fact that there will not be more powerful versions.

But more is known about the second mini-PC. While we do not know its name, but it will be a solution in the SFF form factor, ostensibly aimed at the OEM segment. This PC is based on a Ryzen 7 6800U with 16GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD. Such a PC will ask for $570.
