NVIDIA Launches Professional RTX A6000 Graphics Card

NVIDIA announced its intention to release in the foreseeable future two graphics cards for workstations – RTX A6000 and A40 with GPUs GA102 and GA104, respectively, in October. Today the company officially announced the release of the first professional graphics card based on the Ampere architecture – the RTX A6000.

This is the only GA102 GPU to date that uses all CUDA cores. With 10,752 cores, the GPU delivers single precision compute performance of up to 38.7 teraflops, which is 3.1 teraflops more than the GeForce RTX 3090. However, unlike a gaming card, the RTX A6000 has twice the memory capacity of 48 GB. These modules are currently only available in the GDDR6 version, so the memory bandwidth is actually slightly lower than that of the previous professional model.
NVIDIA RTX A6000 has four DisplayPort 1.4 connectors, HDMI 2.1 is not provided. The card is equipped with a fan-cooled system, unlike the passively cooled A40. Supports NVIDIA vGPU virtualization technology.
The NVIDIA RTX A6000 pre-order price from retailers is $ 5,500, although cards are not available yet. The amount looks more than reasonable considering that the predecessor model with 24 GB of memory sold for $ 6,300.
