NVIDIA has changed the duration of the ban on the publication of GeForce RTX 3080 reviews. According to the updated schedule, the first reviews of the GeForce RTX 3080 will appear only on September 16. In addition, the company announced the start date for the more affordable modification of Ampere – GeForce RTX 3070. It is set for October 15th.
Initially, it was assumed that NVIDIA would publish reviews of GeForce RTX 3080 graphics cards on September 14, that is, this coming Monday. However, today at night NVIDIA in its official forum posted a message that the planned publication date is shifted by two days – at 16:00 Moscow time on September 16. Until this point, reviewers are strictly prohibited from publishing information about the performance of the GeForce RTX 3080.
It is worth noting that the named date for the end of the information embargo applies only to NVIDIA’s own video cards belonging to the Founder Edition series. Reviews of versions of the GeForce RTX 3080, developed by partners from NVIDIA, can only be published in a day – September 17. Also, the start of sales of the GeForce RTX 3080 was scheduled for September 17, and no delays are expected here: at least, the company did not announce any changes to this date.
NVIDIA also revealed that sales of the more affordable member of the Ampere family, the GeForce RTX 3070, will begin on October 15th. There is no more detailed information on this yet, but it can be assumed that the reviews of the GeForce RTX 3070, as is usually the case, will appear several days in advance.
Recall that the start of sales of the flagship video card GeForce RTX 3090 is scheduled for September 24. In this regard, NVIDIA’s plans remain unchanged.
