Now you can use Linux on Mac with Apple M1. The Asahi Linux project still needs some work, but you can already use it

The ability to use Linux on Mac computers with the Apple M1 has been a topic of discussion among enthusiasts since the early days of the announcement of the respective PCs. And now, after about a year, it is already possible to launch the operating system and even work in it, although it still cannot do without flaws.

The developers of the Asahi Linux project claim to have made significant progress lately. Already, Linux on a Mac with M1 can be used as the main system if you are willing to put up with a number of flaws.

At the moment, most of the basic functions are already working, but Thunderbolt 3, USB 3, speakers and camera are not yet working. There is also no GPU hardware acceleration support yet.

And yet there is no convenient installer, but in the case of Linux, this is unlikely to be a problem for most.

Gigabyte has unveiled the Aorus Project Cielo concept modular PC. The name, as well as the lack of details, do not allow us to say so far that such a serial product will be released. But the opposite cannot be said either.

Project Cielo is another attempt at a modular desktop PC. So far, none of the attempts have been successful, which is understandable by the specifics of the market.

Be that as it may, in this case, we know that the upper block of this computer, which looks like a dehydrator, is a PC itself, on average there can be a battery, and the lower one is a speaker system. That being said, Gigabyte is also talking about built-in 5G antennas. That is, it is also a potentially conditionally portable PC.

An interesting innovation such as “Universal Management” at the time of the release on October 25 may be inactive. As noted by Apple, the feature will be available “later this fall,” meaning we can hope to launch it before December.

Universal Control lets you use a single keyboard, mouse, or trackpad to work on multiple devices out of the box. The user just needs to move the cursor towards the second device using the mouse or trackpad until the cursor appears on another screen.
