Now not only Made in China. iPhone 13 launched in India
Apple today announced that the production of the iPhone 13 has begun in India – at the factory of the American company’s traditional partner, Foxconn, located near the city of Chennai. I must say that Apple has been manufacturing iPhones in India for a long time: back in 2017, the release of the iPhone SE was launched in this country, and then the iPhone 11 and, in March 2021, the iPhone 12 joined it. And now the most modern and Apple’s flagship smartphones, the iPhone 13.
India is the second largest smartphone market in the world, so the choice of Apple’s manufacturing site is understandable. Local assembly is important because it allows you to avoid rather significant import duties on smartphones and, thereby, make them more accessible to the local population. So, the cost of the iPhone 12 last year in India was reduced by 14,000 rupees (about $ 185), and it is likely that the locally assembled iPhone 13 in India will also become cheaper. However, the company will not be limited to deliveries only to the local market: iPhone 13 with Made in India stickers will also be delivered to the United States.

Huge cheap smartphone with a giant battery. Tecno Pova 3 introduced

Tecno introduced the Pova 3 smartphone, which boasts a huge battery and a huge screen.
The novelty received a 6.9-inch 90-Hz IPS display with Full HD + resolution. The battery capacity is 7000 mAh. Samsung has stopped experimenting with such smartphones, so it is very, very difficult to find something like this on the market.
The heart of the novelty is the SoC MediaTek Helio G88. There are 4 or 6 GB of RAM and 64 or 128 GB of flash memory. The main camera is represented primarily by a 50-megapixel main sensor, and the other two can be left out, as these are just “plugs” with a resolution of 2 megapixels. The resolution of the front camera is 8 megapixels.
From the rest, we can note stereo speakers, a design diluted with a vertical stripe, 25-watt charging and 10-watt reverse charging. By the way, for some reason, a 33-watt charger comes with the device, so this value appears in some promotional materials, which is confusing.
In the Philippines, where the smartphone first debuted, it costs just $172.

Google again can not decide. The company changed its mind about releasing a folding smartphone Pixel Fold for the second time

Google has again changed its mind about releasing its foldable flagship smartphone.
Recall that rumors about the Pixel Fold appeared about a year ago. Then all the sources said that Google will release the device in the fall or at the end of the year, but this did not happen. It became known that the company abandoned the project, as it considered its smartphone uncompetitive against the backdrop of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3.
Recently, they began to talk about a smartphone again – supposedly Google returned to its idea and nevertheless will release a flexible device closer to the end of this year. And now the source says that the company again abandoned the project. Or at least greatly revised the timing of its entry into the market.
The source says that Goolge again postponed the release of the smartphone, as it does not suit the company itself. By what parameters, it is not specified. Considering that the current Galaxy Z Fold3 already boasts water resistance, and the Fold4 is supposedly getting a better set of cameras, Google may have been unhappy with a lot about its smartphone.
Be that as it may, the source does not have any details that the Pixel Fold or Pixel Notepad will still be released or when it will be released.

The iPhone may finally have a feature that was still on the old Nokia smartphones. iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max may get Always On Display

Apple’s next generation of smartphones may finally get an important feature that has been on many Android phones for years. It’s about Always On Display.
In the current generation, in older models, Apple for the first time for the iPhone used displays with a higher frame rate. In particular, they can change the frequency from 10 to 120 Hz. The iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max may get screens that can drop down to 1Hz. And this will allow Apple to implement a very energy efficient version of the Always On Display.
Ross Young, founder of research firms Display Supply Chain Consultants and DisplaySearch, expects such a feature to actually arrive on the iPhone. Also, about a year ago, the appearance of this feature was also attributed to the iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max, but for some reason Apple decided not to do this.
The Always On Display feature debuted on the Nokia 6303 feature phone in 2009, and then became more widespread on the Nokia smartphone with Simbian and Lumia devices.

This year, Samsung again will not be able to get rid of the crease in the new Galaxy Z Fold

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4 smartphone may get a less noticeable crease than the company’s current model.
The well-known insider Ice Universe wrote about this, noting, however, that the fold is still visible. The novelty will be better than its predecessor in this matter, but will not be able to completely get rid of the crease, as Motorola was able to do in its first flexible smartphone.
The wrinkle issue on Samsung’s foldable flagships comes up every year, and every time this problem remains unresolved. At the same time, sales are actively growing, so, apparently, for the majority this is not a problem.
Ice Universe was one of the first to talk about smartphones with waterfall screens, about the bangs in the iPhone X, about the new design of the iPhone 14, and also about the 200-megapixel image sensor of Samsung
