Not a GeForce GTX 1650 Ti yet, but closer. Radeon 780M Integrated Graphics Core Benchmarks Appeared

Laptops powered by the latest AMD Ryzen 7040 processors should hit the market this month, but there are still very few tests of their new graphics core on the web. Today, another one just appeared, and its results are not particularly impressive.

Not a GeForce GTX 1650 Ti yet, but closer. Radeon 780M Integrated Graphics Core Benchmarks Appeared

Specifically, the Radeon 780M iGPU in the Ryzen 7 7840HS APU scores around 2590 in 3DMark Time Spy. It is worth noting here that the APU worked in the power limit limit mode at around 25 watts, while the maximum value reaches 54 watts. So this is far from the maximum indicator for new items.

However, in any case, it is only marginally faster than the Radeon 680M in the Ryzen 9 6900HS/HX (around 2300-2400 points) and even the power efficient Ryzen 7 6800U (around 2300 points). Recall that the Radeon 780M and Radeon 680M have the same number of stream processors (768 each), but the new iGPU, firstly, has significantly higher frequencies (2.7-3.0 GHz depending on the model), and secondly, secondly, it is based on the new RDNA 3 architecture. It is possible that the results of new products will become better after the notebooks enter the market, but so far there is no particular difference with the previous generation.

It can also be noted that the mobile GeForce GTX 1650 Ti is gaining about 3100 points.

Is it time to finally retire video cards with 2 3

Video cards with a small amount of memory can sometimes still perform well in modern games, if we are talking about the flagship solutions of yesteryear. However, now there is at least one game where accelerators with less than 4 GB of memory simply will not work. This is Halo Infinite.

Is it time to finally retire video cards with 2-3 GB of memory? Halo Infinite no longer runs on these adapters

A fresh patch for this game now simply does not allow you to run it on a PC with video cards that have less than 4 GB of memory. At the same time, such changes are not mentioned in the description of the patch.

It can be noted that the requirement in the form of at least 4 GB of memory has always been in the game, but usually such requirements are conditional. In particular, Halo Infinite ran on inappropriate 3D maps prior to the patch. For example, there are a lot of videos on the Web where the game is tested, including on a GeForce GTX 1050 with 2 GB of memory, which is quite enough to play even in Full HD with minimal graphics quality settings. But there is a much more powerful GeForce GTX 1060 3GB, which feels quite tolerable even in more demanding games.

There is a possibility that the restriction is just a mistake and will be removed soon. But not at all a fact.
