Stories about how an iPhone drowned, lay at the bottom of the sea or lake for several days or even months, and then continued to work after being rescued are no longer particularly surprising. But one of the Reddit users told a truly unusual story about how his iPhone fell into a fire, was badly damaged, but continued to work.
It is not reported how long the iPhone spent in the fire, but it can be noted, firstly, that the phone itself was clearly badly damaged, and secondly, that the silicone case, which suffered even more, still did not have time to melt completely.
The author reports that after the phone was pulled out of the fire, it worked, although not fully. The iPhone received calls and allowed the owner to create a backup. But it could no longer charge, so it worked as long as the battery charge allowed.
Under the corresponding post on Reddit, many funny comments have already appeared like “Normal operating temperature for an iPhone” or “Call Apple and tell them this new overheating problem is getting out of hand.”.
For some reason, the author also did not say which iPhone it was, but the shape of the cutout suggests that it is definitely not any of the iPhone 15 or iPhone 14 Pro models.

The smartphone has a removable back plastic cover, a battery that can be easily removed like smartphones of the past, many modular components, from the USB-C port to the camera unit, various pointers to simplify the assembly process, and so on.
Asus published on Twitter the first image of its new gaming flagship ROG Phone 8. The picture shows the rear panel of the smartphone with a new camera unit: visually it is more compact than the camera unit of the current model, but at the same time it protrudes more beyond the body.
There are no specific details about the specifications of the ROG Phone 8. This model, like most new flagships, will receive the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, and data from the Chinese regulator 3C suggests that the smartphone will support 65 W charging. Finally, ROG Phone 8 has already appeared on Geekbench in versions with 16 and 24 GB of RAM.
Asus promises to introduce ROG Phone 8 soon, but there is no exact date yet.
According to rumors, Samsung Galaxy S24 smartphones will be the first smartphones to feature One UI 6.1 out of the box. You shouldn’t count on a large amount of innovations compared to One UI 6.0, but there will be important targeted changes in the firmware. As an example, a feature called “battery protection” in One UI 6.1 will have three operating modes.
- Basic: charging stops at 100%, resumes at 95%;
- Adaptive: charging pauses at 80% while the smartphone owner is sleeping, and by morning the battery is charged to 100%;
- Maximum: Charging will stop when reaching 80%.
Some other smartphones have already implemented similar functions, so Samsung won’t offer anything particularly unique. At the same time, it is very good that the company is expanding the capabilities of the “battery protection” function.
