On Monday, December 14, HMD Global quietly announced a new member of the Nokia C series of affordable smartphones. The new product was named Nokia C1 Plus and joined the previously released Nokia C1 and Nokia C2. HMD claims the Nokia C1 Plus is the brand’s cheapest 4G smartphone.

As the name suggests, the Nokia C1 Plus is a slightly improved version of the Nokia C1 that was introduced last year. The new item has exactly the same display as the original model – 5.45 inches. The smartphone is powered by the mobile operating system Android 10 Go Edition. This is a special “lightweight” version of the OS, designed for budget smartphones with a small amount of RAM and low-power processors.

The display of the new smartphone has a standard rectangular shape without a cutout and notches and has a resolution of 1440 by 720 pixels (HD +). Above it is a speaker and a 5MP front-facing camera for selfies and video calling. On the back is a 5MP main camera with flash. The Nokia C1 Plus is based on a 1.4 GHz quad-core processor, the model of which is not specified by the manufacturer. The company has 1 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal memory expandable using a microSD memory card.

A rechargeable battery with a capacity of 2500 mAh is responsible for the autonomous operation of the novelty. It charges up to 5W through the microUSB port. There is a separate 3.5mm headphone jack, a dual SIM slot (depending on the region) and a standard set of communications, including LTE, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.

Nokia C1 Plus will go on sale in several European countries before the end of this year. There it will cost only 69 euros. The device will be offered in two colors: blue and red.
