Nokia hasn’t been making flagships for over a year, while other manufacturers make at least two flagship smartphones a year. HMD Global’s latest flagship phone, the Nokia 9 PureView, came out in 2019.
There have been several reports that the manufacturer is working on a new flagship called Nokia 9.3 PureView, which will receive a more powerful processor and upgraded cameras. The phone, after several delays, was due to be announced in December. However, the latest report says the phone won’t come out this year.
The information came from the nokia_anew community, and according to a tweet they posted, the Nokia 9.3 PureView will not be released this year as the announcement has been pushed back to the first half of next year.
Some bad news.
The Nokia 9.3 PureView won’t be unveiled this year.
The announcement was postponed to the first half of 2021. The month is still unknown.#exclusive #nokia9 #nokia #nokiamobile #hmd #juhosarvikas #nokia9pureview #2020year pic.twitter.com/cMLPNjtOjV

In a response letter, the source said that the information was not a joke, as they received confirmation. But the new date (month) is unknown.
While the above information is an unconfirmed report and should be viewed with a grain of salt, it would come as no surprise if it turns out to be true. The release of the phone, which is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 865, has been delayed more than once, so another delay won’t be unusual.
The smartphone was supposed to be released alongside the Nokia 7.3 and Nokia 6.3, but with the postponement to 2021, HMD Global could make major changes to the phone’s specifications. Also, the decision may be due to the fact that now is not the best time for the announcement.
If the phone undergoes major changes, most likely they will be associated with the replacement of the Snapdragon 865 processor with the Snapdragon 875. Therefore, Nokia 9.3 may appear in the first half of the year.
If the release is delayed due to time, then the appearance is possible at the beginning of 2021, when other high-profile novelties will die off.
